My 8 twist 26" stabalizes the Berger 156 bullets just fine out to 1400 I've shot out to. 1/8 twist is fine for 6.5 creedmoor
The 1 in 8 has long stabilized bullets of 160 grain but not the sleek new designs we shot today.
Still, I would shoot the 8 twist and not feel any angst.
In fact, my first 6.5 Creedmoor was done with 8.5 twist 5R and it shot extremely well with heavy bullets.

If you have the choice I’d go 7 or 7.5 just in case you want to shoot 150SMK’s or the new 153.5 Berger. Berger says 1:8 is the minimum but seeing as some guys have had issues with the 150’s in a 8, I see no way that bullet is any shorter so I wouldn’t completely trust it in a 8 twist. 7 or 7.5 wonder hinder you shooting 130’s one bit either.

Shooting 130s out of my slow factory tikka (1:8) I have shot to a mile. Stability has been good.
Getting a stability factor above 1.2 is okay and above 1.5 is preferred from the Berger calculator. After 1.75 I feel like you are giving up potential velocity. (as small as it may be)

if i had the choice with no effect on cost or lead time i'd do a 7.5 and the barrel I have sitting is a 7.5, but i would never hesitate about a 8 twist
