7 mag 162 gr SST with H4831

I am looking to load some 162 gr SST for my Ruger American 7 mag with H4831.

The Hornady manuals shows a load range of 53.7 to 59.7 topping out at 2800 fps. That seems a tad conservative to me.

Has anyone loaded higher than 59.7 with 162 without any pressure issues?

I will tell you that yes I have. The Hornady manual is very lawyered up but you'd have to work it up in your rifle. The first pic is Lyman for 160 class and second is Richard Lee 162 class. I'd suggest hodgdo reloading.com they also suggest 60-64 grains.

I was over that by a little bit in my 7 saum with 168’s.

I’ve always relied on the powder manufactures data before I relay on the bullet manufacturers data.
Hodgdon’s data say with a 162 HDY and 64 Grs of H4831 (max).
