7 SAUM, Alpha Mags

Hey fellas. I'm in the process of spinning up my 7 SAUM but need magazines, specifically 10 round magazines for PRS. The only company that I know of that makes a 10 round magazine is Alpha Munitions; however, they are out of stock and nobody answers the phone. I've looked on other sites but can only find the 7 round. I know I can use the Area 419 extender but that's $125 total per magazine.

Please let me know if you have any for sale or know of a place.

Try GA Precision. I local guy just had GAP build him a 6.5PRC and he bought 10-round Alpha mags through GAP. I looked and their web site does not show them but a phone call might prove fruitful instead. Otherwise the four 10-round WSM Alpha mags I have have worked quite well despite Alpha's lackluster Customer Service reputation.

GA precision is out. The 7 SAUM requires the type 4 magazine for 10 rounds.

You don't need a 10 round magazine for PRS using the 7SAUM. Run the 7 rounder from Accurate then single feed the last couple rounds from a 2 round carrier or two.

Heck, a buddy of mine took second place at a PRS one day match using his 300 win mag that he was prepping for an ELR match. He did it halfway as a joke, I think he used one 5 round magazine and then had a bunch of SAP 2 round holders velcroed all over the rifle. DIdn't slow him down a bit.

I run the Alpha mags for my 6.5 SAUM, they are the only mag that I can find to stuff those fat little mag cases into and will fit 10. I believe the dude making the mags is a “one man show” PITA to get hold of him. Once you do, he will take care of you. I had issue getting the mag from him, but for me, it runs flawless

Right now I’m using modified ARC mags.
I’m hoping MDT will do a short magnum mag soon.

Per what GA Precision posted a while back, Alpha is no more - and they got the last batch of 10rd SAUM mags, which sold out pretty quickly.

I’m tempted to order a MDT 12 308 mag and modify it for my saum.

My current modified ARC mag feeds smoother than a fat chick at the Golden Corral.

Pretty much. Accurate mag 7rd (or similar) + extension is the only option to get a 10rd now. Alpha's website is still up, but the store is empty. Kinda sucks they went under, but it's not a surprise, either.

Alpha mag owner supposedly is a first responder and does not reply - EVER. Unless George has them in stock, assume they are unobtainable. I believe however the last lot George got was his last. Ping Ken @ GAP to find out.

Unless I am sorely mistaken, that's exactly what Ken posted a while back, and that batch sold out pretty quick.

Building a 7 saum now what did u have to do with the arc mags to make them work

I just opened up the lips a bit to get the cartridge sitting right and a bit more nose up.
They kinda worked ok from the get go but now they run slick and smooth.
