I have a 700 AAC that I upgraded the stock to an HS precision, the gun shoots pretty well hand loaded and sub par with factory loads. I am wanting to maybe get the action trued and action bedded do you think this will help a lot and does anyone know a good smith that I can send it too for the work?
Or is there anything y'all recommend to have done?

Re: 700 AAC

I would shoot out the factory barrel then get it trued up and match grade barrel installed. Not sure if trueing can be done without installing new barrel either way trueing wouldn't help that much with use of factory barrel, IMHO. GA Precision offers these services and I hear they do great work.

Re: 700 AAC

To true the action would result in the threads being slightly enlarged in the receiver and you would either have to get an aftermarket barrel fitted or have the factory set back (not suggested).

Bed it and shoot the snot out of it. Get really good and then have it worked over.

+1 Shoot it out and send it in to GAP. Or sell the action and barrel and use it to start a "custom barrel and action fund".
