Hope this is the right forum
Got a great like new 1980s LH 270 BDL
Son did reloads for me.
Shot a couple factory bullets to foul the barrell first before trying the reloads
2nd shot must have had bad primer as I got blow back
Now bolt is very hard to close once another round is chambered
And will not eject any ammo?
I use a pushrod to extract round. Tried several different brands
Thoroughly cleaned rifle today and same issue after cleaning

Ideas?Suggestions? What happened and how to fix?
Thanks

It looks like your primer leaked and now it sounds like your ejector and spring are damaged. What does the bolt face look like?

You say you have to tap the shell casings out with a cleaning rod now? Is the extractor still in the bolt?

Don’t forget the extractor. If you’re having to push fired cases out with a rod you should check that also.

I think the extracted is gone? Right?

Looks like your ejector plunger may be bent. Can you push it in and out, or is it stuck in place

Looks like the ejector has been cut by hot gasses. It needs replaced, and I'm not seeing much of the extractor. Probably needs replaced as well.

Ok thanks
So how hard is that for a smith to do?
And what would u replace?
Ejector and firing pin spring? Let?
Thanks

Replace that bolt, gunsmith will know specifically what to do but in those pics, bolt face, ejector, everything looks trashed.

I’m not a Smith but prob not that expensive and no big deal. Maybe a few hundred total (just a guess) (bolt plus parts, head spacing, etc).

The case on the left has a major ejector swipe. That load was WAY over pressure, do not shoot that load anymore!!! The over pressure load has damaged the ejector and transferred brass onto the bolt face. New ejector and spring plus clean up the bolt face at a minimum.

Thanks
Ok it was a factory 270 Remington core lokt load… just foulers and it did this damage
Ok so left hand…. So will take Borland gin to smith
I guess
Thanks guys

Son just worked up loads with Bergers for me.. and I was about to try them and this happened.
I have 5 other hunting rifles
So not really a time thing but a quality job thing at this point
Thanks again!
