700 LA Question

What are the 2 small threaded holes on the rear left side and the 1 small threaded hole on the forward right side for on a 700 long action. Call me crazy but i dont recall my short actions having these holes....

The two small holes on rear left are for a sight, I think. I have an older 700 with the holes and a newer one without. I am not sure what hole on the right u are referring to but mine have them and they aren't threaded. I think they are just a blowout hole in case shtf.

Forward one is for a gas escape path in case of a ruptured case, the two on the rear are for a rear target sight.
