Gunsmithing 700 long action box mag. length

Could you tell me the
length of the magazine box or max. length cartridge that would fit. A buddy is looking at doing a 6.5x284 for tactical matches
and wants to seat the bullets as close to the lands as possible.

shouldnt have any problems in the long action.

i don't have a factory one to measure but it is going to be around 3.6" oal. you will have plenty of room to seat a .284 based cartridge to any length you could possible want.
