I am not able to find a picture in my armorers manual of a Remington 700 WSM showing the magazine cuts.
I just finished bedding a re-barreled action for a friend and after assembly the follower rides up out of the action. He bought the action only, as an allegedly new trued .308 action.
In comparing the magazine cuts to a .308 action I have I see that the cuts on the bedded action are flared or opened up at the back. It appears that the opening is factory.
Is this a WSM action that someone has replaced the WSMagnum bolt with a .308 bolt?
Anyone have a picture of a WSM action showing the magaizine cuts?
Is the follower for a WSM different than that of a .308 follower?
Any pics of the follower in comparison to a .308 follower?

Re: 700 WSM Action Magazine cuts

Yeah my factory WSM follower pops up ocasionally...I was scretching the cases really bad feeding so I rounded the edges of the feed lips and now apparently I took too much and the follower kicks side to side and front to back.....feeds like shit.

The thing I belive is the problem is the WSM mag box is different...cutout sides for the fatter case....but I don't think they used a wider follower...I will check for you....but it seems if there were better support going from the follower down the sides of the mag well towards the floorplate it would help it with kicking side to side then getting past the feed lips.

Either the Wyatts or the Seekins when he gets the WSM mags done.....my plan at least.
