700 XCR .223 Range report added

Just finished this gun up, Its a Remington 700 XCR Compact Tactical in .223. Leupold 4.5-14x50 TMR, Badger base, Nightforce UL low rings, Harris 6-9 With Pod Claws, AAC SPR/M4 Suppressor borrowed from my SPR Noveske.

The first half inch of the muzzle end of the barrel was really scratched up on top of the rifling, and the crown had burrs on it that were stripping pieces of jacket and fowling terribly. So I had Darrell Holland cut it by 1/2", turn it down, re-crown, and threaded it for the mount.


I just finished bedding the action, and texturing the stock with Marine Tex. I added a little AAC love with the Skull/Spade from their Blackout logo.

How do you think I did with the texture? I haven't seen anything like it before, and it sure feels good to the touch.

Check out the S/N on the AAC... I got lucky, didn't even order it that way!

So far it shoots MOA or better with most loads I feed it, but the 1-9 wont stabilize the 75 Amax, or 75 Berger VLD but it seems to like the 70 VLD just fine.

First off Im glad you posted your pictures as big as possible. Secondly, because the pictures are so big it really lets people see how F'ing ugly that paint job is.

LoL, don't hold back... honestly. I was lookin for other opinions on the texture job, good or bad. I will add it looks less white in person, must have been the lighting. Are the pics fucking huge? They look like 640 to me?? I'll fix them if they are too big.

looks good. nice touch on the texturing. why be the same when you can be different? its yours, dont worry what anyone else says. my texture is done in flames and i did a punisher skull in epoxy. like i give a crap what anybody else thinks. plus my zip code and birthday are all 666.

So had some time to put a few rounds down range today, here are some results.

All groups are 5 shot groups, 100yds, shot prone from a bipod.

69 SMK shot well but doesn't have the BC I'm after

This combo showed some promise

I used the same powder charge and worked from the lands back to 40 thousands out... here are the results.

All groups were shot suppressed, suppressor removed, cooled and remounted each group.
