737R vs. Ruckus

Mind sharing any info on the issue?

At your discretion...

At this point, I don't want to share anything. LPA is known to make quality actions and I don't want to put out bad information for an issue which I believe is just a fluke. I have been unable to find anyone else experiencing the issue I am. If it arrives back to me, and I have the same issue, I will hopefully get it resolved directly with them; either with a fix, refund or complete replacement of the action. Preferably a fix/replacement because the action is nice and I have already invested a barrel and stock inlet for it.

Edit: I received the action back, have the rifle completely put together and I am not experiencing the issue I sent it in for.

If you had an issue, and if it wasn't identified and corrected, I'd wager it is still there. I've spent my life repairing mechanical items and I can't remember the last time one of them fixed itself.
Yes, and I believe that to be the case. I'll just have to document it better and let them keep it for a longer period of time - which is unfortunate.

Sooner or later, any & every action/rifle company will likely put out a dud. I’d let how they handle the issue speak louder than the issue itself as long as it gets resolved.
Exactly. I'll post how the issue was handled in the future as I don't believe anyone has commented on LPA customer service. (everyone I have spoken to has never had a reason to contact them)

Totally new to bolt guns. What is cock on open vs cock on close?
It refers to the point in cycling the action that the firing pin is recocked. Most actions recock it while you lift the bolt handle. Thats why the bolt lift feels heavy and maybe a little springy. Some actions only partially recock it on opening and then fully cock it while you're moving the bolt down into battery. This lightens the opening, but creates a little extra effort to close it. "Timing" the trigger basically refers to tuning the cocking sequence so there are no extra "hickups" or wasted effort during the cocking sequence. I think it's safe to say most competition shooters prefer very little cock on close since it disturbs your sight picture if you've already acquired one while the bolt was open.

Ah, makes sense. Do you just have to play around with different hangers to find which one has the least cock on close?

You can do that, yes. The downside to eliminating C-O-C that way is that you reduce your firing pin fall. .015" probably isn't going to hurt anything, but you can compromise ignition if you go to far. When an expert times a firing system by grinding sears and ramps, they can remove all the hickups but still maintain the pin fall.
That's the nice thing about an Impact. Different triggers are made to different specs. Without the adjustable hangers, you're stuck with whatever you get when you slide the trigger pins in.
I'm making this sound like a big deal, but in reality, all of the custom actions are good out of the box. Each one has a slightly different design and that's what gives them their own unique feel and how an action feels is very much just a personal preference.
