Just got the email. If some of you are looking for cheap cans to put on rack grade rifles or have AAC cans and would like brakes vs. the damn tuning fork or need a good thread on can, it's the best sale they've ever ran I know of. Remington bought 'em out, didn't do a damn thing to the lineup, and somehow expected to turn a profit? 75% is usually associated with going out of business sales. I wish they were closer by, I bet they're giving shit away at the office.

FWIW, I WOULD NOT buy a QD can from them unless you already own one --if you own a 51T, 18T or whatever, then you already know what you're getting in to. Except for their thread on cans, those are probably GTG. I always said they make great cans, just can't get away from that shitty mount.

And I don't have much love for the 90T either, if 18 and 51 didn't work, what makes 'em think 3rd time'll be the charm with the same damn idea!? Besides, rub that fucker against one rock and it's probably toast. IDK, I guess Army lets POGs pick out infantry gear so they went with the damn 90T mount and can on their new sniper rifle; anyone who knows their shit knows Sico, Surefire and KAC come before AAC any day of the week, not to mention others for military cans. For those of you that want it to be "in spec" this is probably the sale for you though.

Agree with Strykervet; they made it sound sweet but "75% off entire store" is bullshit. The mounts have been on sale; bought a brakeout 2.0 back in Aug for the same price as their "Black Friday 75% off best deal ever". They'll be going under soon. Tech support tried to convince me that their 3/4x24 mount would fit my DT SRS 3/4x24 threads for an SDN-6 I already have, even tried it for shits and giggles and to be able to say "told you so". They then tried to convince me to use their silencer which cost in total ~$1000 on my rifle whose barrel cost ~$1400 with only 3/4" of threads threaded. Fuck that, not making a $2400 mistake because I doubt they would make it right, whatever good engineers they once had clearly have left the building, which is reflected in their product line.

Don't mean to make it another AAC-bashing thread, but seems like that's all they are deserving of these days, between poor tech support, failing product line, and apparent cheap attempts at marketing which borders false advertising.

I don’t know what your background is and why you have that opinion, but I’ll share mine. I own both 51t and 90t cans, The 90t isn’t just the same old mount with more teeth, it’s a significantly better design. I’m not saying it’s better than any other brand, just pointing out that lumping it into the same category as the 18t and 51t mounts isn’t a fair comparison.

BTW, I’m far from an AAC fanboy, my favorite cans have other names on the side of them.

I told a guy that just bought a 90T much the same thing, but that said, I would NEVER recommend them as a "BUY!" for a new can! EVER! Friends don't let friends buy AAC!

I'd be here all day with what I have to say about 'em. But I can say they wouldn't be in the situation they are in if they're R&D was stellar. Even a really good CS could have covered up for some of the grievances. The 90T is different, but it's close enough that the rest of us that were begging for a different mount felt snubbed. It's like they never wanted return business the way they operated, especially at the end. They knew it was a flop.

It's a shame because the cans themselves were actually really good IMO/E. The SDN6 is awesome on a .300BLK. The 556SD is a great little can for an M4. All this is assuming the can locks tightly onto the mount of course.

Yeah, I have an idea they are going away soon. Remington put 'em on life support, but I bet it was just to sell off the old stock to make as much as they can, setup a warranty center and then move on to a new animal. God I hope Remington wasn't dumb enough to think AAC's problem is an image problem!

I bought a 300BLK barrel when this was first posted on 11/22 and still haven't received - and they're only a few hours north of me in Huntsville, AL! Doesn't make me inclined to want to order from AAC again.

Well, if it helps I did too, 22nd same as you, and I replied to the email they sent about the initial order asking what the deal was, and they said, "Your order has been packed and getting ready for shipping. We had a flood of orders this past weekend and has delayed our shipping times." This came yesterday. Typical AAC.

When I finally got that mount swapped out after waiting over 2 years with old AAC, Remington's AAC still took several weeks to send out a replacement. But I did get it. Typical 51T mount, wiggles but didn't wobble like the old one; it's safe enough to use at least.

In all fairness, I didn’t buy the SR7, I picked it up on a prize table. I won a second one the following year that I never received, but that wasn’t AAC’s fault, it was because of the turd of a match director. I have been pleased with it though, I don’t have any reason to fault the 90t taper mount. AAC makes really good cans, they just didn’t handle the issues with the old mounts well when they were the big dogs.

I ordered a Blastout on 11/25 and there website says it's still processing. They must of got slammed with orders for the 75% off sale. hopefully they don't leave me in limbo.

    22NOV and still waiting...

Everyone else I ordered from before and after that date have sent their packages and they've all arrived and been picked up. AAC... Goddamn. How can they be bought out, moved to another state and STILL be this fucked up? I find it hard to imagine that "AAC" was slammed, don't you? Out of all the people with suppressors, who's spending money at AAC? Can't be THAT many.

How long does it take to throw 3 mounts and 2 bags of shims in a box, tape it up and slap a shipping stick on it? Obviously longer than 16 days for them.

No way they were more slammed than Brownells or Midway, both of who came through. Even if AAC ships today, it'll be a week or more before I see anything.

It took me 2 months or so to get that flash hider they promised me when they got bought out too, couldn't figure out why.

That's what I always hear, everyone who is honest says the 90T is pretty good. But after 18 and 51T, then the CS, I'm just burned out on 'em. We do owe them a "thanks" for what they did for suppressor proliferation in the US, but it's funny, all that advertising just wound up making their competitors rich, not them! But they did a lot to make suppressors "normal" and why they are so popular today.

But I'd sure as shit take a new SR7 if someone gave it to me! Hell yeah, and congratulations on it! I'd be pissed if I didn't get the second one I won. But I never win anything. I have 20 lapua lottery tickets that came with brass and I bet all 20 will be losers. I NEVER win raffles or shit online.

Okay, finally got my order yesterday. I guess they are phasing out AAC totally, probably selling off all the old stock, because my mounts shipped from Mississippi with no tracking info sent. They just showed up and addressed from "RA" or Remington Arms. I could be wrong, but I get that feeling. Anyway, you guys' shit should be showing up anytime. The quality of finish has changed over the years, I just hope they lock up without any hassles. Fingers crossed. Can't wait to get rid of that goddamn "PING!" after each shot. I can even hear it through the can sometimes.

So Nov. 22 to Dec. 09... Not too bad actually for a Black Friday rush for a company probably operating on skeleton crews until the old stock is gone.

God I hope Remington takes AAC and does something with it... AAC used to be one of the top tier believe it or not. They make a good can out of good material, so I'd like to see Remington take that and make a better mount system for it. If they did, AND unfucked CS, I'd probably get more AAC cans. If they don't, these mounts will be my last order from AAC.
