750 and expanding mandrel for 223

In my 550 while running 223 I:
1 fls with a honed die and undersized ball
2 expanding mandrel
3 powder
4 seat

So the Dillon 750 seems to fix the powder measure in station 2. Can it be instead in 3? I would love to:
1 fls from case feeder
2 expanding mandrel
3 powder
4 Mr bullet feeder
5 seat no crimp
I have never been around a 650 even so would this work?

Thinking of fls / decap / undersized expander off of the dillon and put mandrel in station 1.

Ummm. Hadn't been for a few test rounds but now you got me worried...is crimp required?
I'm setting about .002" neck tension

There will be debate about necessity of a crimp.

If you use s 0.002 mandrel possibly could have bullets move as it slams home?

I run a light crimp with my current 0.0035 neck tension and think that is over kill and hurting accuracy.

I don’t own a 750 yet, but on my 650 I wouldn’t be able to move the powder measure from station 2. I use the same process to load 223 on the 650 and use a lee autodisk in hole three. You could do the same with any other case activated powder measure. I’ve heard good things about the hornady, but haven’t picked one up yet.

I’m doing this for a bolt action so I run .003 bullet interference and do not crimp.

When making Ar ammo for the 223 I FL size with the expander ball followed by a light crimp. Also some seating dies can be adjusted to provide a crimp as well, the last set of rcbs’s I bought had verbiage in the manual about how to set this up.

I've run a Dillon with a bolt in place of the powder drop safety linkage and it ran fine.
Is the only reason station 2 won't work because of the powder safety linkage?

Yup that’s what I was pointing out. Never thought of using a bolt to remove the linkage, that’s a good idea.

I dont know if it will hold the bullet while cycled.

I was thinking my 0.0035 nt and crimp was too much.

I plan on going to 0.002 and a slight crimp to see what it does to groups in the ar.

Some skip the crimp and I wonder of thier group size or if the bullets move on chambering?

You could always take your comparator/calipers to the range and eject a few rounds after chambering to measure.

I'm going to do a s x s test soon.

Clean barrel 5 fowlers
5 nt 3.5 and crimp
5 nt 3.5 no crimp
5 nt 2 and crimp
5 nt 2 no crimp
In process of moving bench so on delay.

Have current plinking round shooting 1 1/8 moa and hope to improve it.
