Are these loaded with 77SMK? I always thought it was a 77 golden target.

I contacted Norma and they told me the golden target rounds use a 77gr SMK projectile with a cannelure, same as MK262.

Ok so I was half to 2/3 drunk at the house. Shot about 25 other rounds quickly before I decided to use the last three for a group. This is at 100 with just a bipod and a smoking hot barrel and pew can. No bag no nothing, just some dude who hasn’t shot in forever sharing his results with the Norma 77.

White Oak Upper with 7.5 Shilen barrel 20” 750 with Hi-Lux Service Rifle scope.
LMT Lower with Gisselle National Match trigger.
White Oak branded first gen UBR stock.
I purchased 500 at the sale price.
Norma is out of stock at the present.
If they put it on sale again, I will purchase a couple of cases.

Have a few rounds fired finally. I’ve had quite a few sub .5 MOA 3 round groups. Shooter error opening up on 5 round groups though . Safe to say ammo shoots well

Old thread I know...

But I went out to try the Norma 175s in my 308. I didn't get to try the 77s in my 223. However, the 308 ammo shot decent.

I was trying to zero a 6.5 grendel but I couldn't get it to group and had shotgun patterns mostly.

So I got the 308 out just to see if I could eliminate myself as the shooter being the culprit.

I wasn't shooting for groups, which is why I didn't go for 5 shots.

But below are the only two 3 shot groups I did.

It ain't too bad. I can only assume the 223 stuff will shoot decent too...

Packing up for the range last week I came upon some Norma 77GR that I had forgotten about since using it in a rifle review in 2018. Not sure if its the same stuff as makers are always switching boxes. It seems to be the same bullet though the stuff I have tested was @ 2790fps in my 20" bolt gun and most on this thread seem to be getting a good bit less out of the "Golden Target" boxes. Anyhow, SD was 19.82fps and groups have been consistently ~.75" through a couple different rifles. Good stuff. Generally the stuff I have had from RUAG / Norma has been excellent with their 130gr 6.5CM Scirocco II hunting round being flat out match grade.
