I've been running the 180VLD's out of an 8.5tw 26" barrel chambered in 280Rem and getting around 2760fps using RL22 with NO pressure signs.Stillhave plenty of capacity in the case also.I heard that the Hybrids are not as sensative to seating depth as the regular VLD and want to give them a try. I can't wait.
I saw a good shooter launching those out of a 32" barrel 284 win at a 1000yds and he was chewing the X ring all day. he was very happy with those long 7mm 180's.
I am having great luck with the 180g Hybrids out of my .284 Shehane. I really like the bullet and agree with Bohem, they are less finicky about seating depth. Mine are 0.025 off the lands.
I loaded them the same as the 180 vld's . 65 h1000 2930fps. I think there B.C is in the high side. They dropped more the the vld with the same load at 1000 yards.
Berger sent me 300 of the Hybrids from the first run but I have not had a chance to try them out. I have been running the 180 VLDs pretty successfully, so I look forward to giving these a spin...
