Howdy, I am attempting, without much luck, to purchase a set of go/no go gauge's for the 7MM R SAUM. Anyone have any info on who might have them. I have checked PTG and Clymer. Will try Manson when I get home from work, is this something I need to have custom made or are they out there?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I got mine from midway.
They have one right now.
Mine is .001 shorter than my ADG brass so perfect for setting headspace.
I use clear packing tape on the end for a no go as every layer is .002.

Do you just need one layer of packing tape when using it as a no-go gauge

Thanks

Yes
Each layer of standard packing tape is .002ish so you can do multiple layers.
I measure my brass at the datum then I measure the go gauge.
In my instance my go gauge is + .002 compared to my brass so I cut my chambers to just barely clear the go gauge or max 1 layer.

If your brass was equal to go gauge I’d be happy with one or two layers.

You really should mike the tape you put on the back of the gauge.
"Packing tape" varies from .002 to as much as .004 or .005 for the thicker, heavy duty stuff.

If it's .002, it would be perfectly acceptable for the bolt handle to fall on one layer as "go + .002".
Two layers (at .004), not so much...

Whenever I want to know exactly how much clearance exists between boltface and gauge, I stick a piece of Plastigage on the boltface.
