7mm to 257

hey guys,
kind of a technical question, but i just picked up a remington 700 7mm rem mag for next to nothing and i was looking at re barreling it to 257 weatherby and i was wondering if thats possible with the current bolt?

is the 257 a smaller diameter base than the 7mm? will the bolt face need to be changed?

Just requires a straight re-barrel. Everything else will work.

Most mid-bore magnums have a 0.523" diameter cartridge head. 7mm Rem Mag and .257 Weatherby Mag fall into this class. (or is it .532"? I can't remember for sure)
