I plan on shooting 168 180 bergers and some of the wildacat bullets if they ever get going. Im ordering a 26" #6 1-9 or 1-8.5 twist Pac-Nor barrel. What should i have them set the throat at?

Re: 7wsm throat length?

My 7wsm has .290 free bore which seats the 180s out just about as far a you'd want to go while still having decent neck tension. You can do this as long as your project is based on a long action.

If you're using a short action and plan on making it a repeater you'll need to set it way back from my number. Also give yourself a little extra room to chase the lands over the life of the barrel.

Most of the guys I know shooting 7 WSM or it's derivatives in F class are running in th 0.240-0.250 range for the FB.

This leaves some "burn in" room over the 0.290 that leaves you at the limit as soon as you start burning powder.

My 7/300 WSM reamer is 0.220FB 1*30 Leade

It handles the 180's very well but the 162's and other 160-170 class bullets still work from it.
