Range Report 800 yard target camera

Re: 800 yard target camera

Check out Wireless wonder on 6br or goggle Forest Foster
All the information is there. I had my own video camera and I used a 19" tv. Any television with AV input will work. I also used a small inverter to power the monitor. It is a very simple setup. Ross

Re: 800 yard target camera

I've been thinking really hard about getting a wireless camera system to spot 1000+ yds on steel. Even with good spotting scopes, its often hard to tell exactly where on steel you hit after the plate has been hit numerous times.

What would a basic budget setup cost? And would there be any issues with damaging the cameras and other electronics from the splash on steel?

Re: 800 yard target camera

I have shot steel plates with my 338 Edge several times with a target cam within 25 feet. The basic cost can vary check out wireless wonder or google forrest foster. Go to 6br and check out target cams and you will find wireless wonder. At the bottor of his article there are some transmitters and receivers for $140.00. I think you could put a system togeather for around $300.00 if you have a video camera and a old TV. Another direction to go is Targetteck they sell systems for around $500.00 complete with camera. I have one of there systems being delivered Monday and I will post another video of that system. Ross

Re: 800 yard target camera

That rocks - thanks for posting it. Didnt know you could get a transmitter for only 150. Would be nice to put it on seversal targets so you dont have to change em out as often. Would be nice for load development too.
