Anyone out there tried this combo? I've tried up to 24.1gr 4895 in a 29.5" 7 twist barrel and the load is pretty compressed. Maybe try a drop tube next. Groups are meh around 1" 10 shot groups and only going 2825 but the barrel has less than 100 rounds on it so hoping it speeds up a bit.

Anyone try any other powders and have success? I loading to 2.53" .02" off the lands with Wolf primed brass (this has FTF every once in awhile but not sure if its because the load is so compressed).

I’ve have tried H4895 with 88 ELD in my Savage Model 12 VLP – 26” 1-7 twist (over 1k rounds through it) without success (could not find a node for it).
However, I’ve had good luck with 24.0gr -TAC (MV: 2744/ SD: 6.8) and 22.6gr -8208XBR (MV: 2704 / SD: 7.3) . Using Lake City Brass and CCI 450 Primers. COAL: 2.387 (.010 off lands).
