9 mm pistol suppressor on 9mm carbine

Can the suppressor I use on my Glock, with a piston due to the tilt barrel, be used without problems on my 9mm AR carbine.

Should be able to. You’ll have to buy a spacer. I put my obsidian 9 on my .22 rifle

Yes a fixed barrel spacer is required with the obsidian 9. Your can may be different. Should be able to search to confirm or email company.

Yes but you need to 'disable' the piston spring.

This is done either by replacing the spring with a solid spacer or by taking the booster housing assembly off and replacing it with a fixed mount.

The manufacturer of your suppressor probably makes those parts. At least mine does.

You have to take the can apart and take out the spring that helps it reciprocate. In it's place you have a solid metal tube "spacer" about the same dimensions as the spring that you drop in where the spring goes.

Thanks! That is what I do when I switch platforms. I remove the piston assembly for the AR. I was hoping I could skip that process but I guess not. I just didn’t want to harm either one.

If you don't take out the ability to reciprocate you will run about a 90ish percent chance of getting baffle strikes.

I use this AAC for Glocks and Wilson Combat AR9G (glock mags) SBR.
The fixed spacer installed when the barrel is fixed, replaces the piston spring.

I just replace the whole backend of the suppressor when switching between guns. That might be quicker and already sunk cost.
