Depends... much of the AR-9 stuff is built similarly enough where things like BCG's and uppers/lowers will interchange, but IDK if there's a consensus or decided upon standard yet, so it's definitely annoying and sometimes you just have to try it for yourself.
IIRC Aero, PSA, QC10, Angstadt Arms and even JP and a few others will all play nice together, Foxtrot Mike stuff will work with most of that stuff too.
It's when you get into the LRBHO and roller-delayed and/or piston territory where everything goes all wonky and proprietary and gets really confusing. CMMG has their own thing, JP has their roller-delayed thing, and there's a few others doing things their own way too to watch out for.
Some stuff is just rebranded or licensed stuff too, Wilson Combat and a few others license and use Foxtrot Mike's design.
I've put together more than a few of them and honestly would recommend getting an upper, lower and BCG from the same maker if you can, just less headaches... but, if you're into it, you can mix and match a bit if you want to as well, you might just end up being the first one to do it depending on what you cobble together...
