I have a new model 12 LRP in 260. Its Heavy!
If I grip the barrel and forearm it compresses easily. Is this normal or should I start off with a stiffer stock? My 700VS [HS stock] does not flex this easilly.
Also, I see the 10FCP SR has a neet mag system. Whose is this and is it adaptable to my rifle?
I have had great success with Ballistic tips in 223 and wonder if I should begin with some of these in this 8 twist 26" 260? Beginning medium range target shooter here.

Re: A Couple Savage Questions

As far as your stock flexing, assuming you have the accustock, its not the greatest stock out there. It gets the job done for a production rifle, but there is room for improvement. To answer your first question, yes I have two accustocks and they flex up near the fore end if I apply pressure. When shooting though this is irrelevant though.

To try and answer your question about the savage 10 mags, I'm also going to assume your talking about the savage detachable mag system. Of course you can run that with your gun, you just need an inletted stock, and bottom metal and you would be good to go.

I have the same rifle and though I reload for it, the most accurate factory loads I found are Federals 120gr Accutip. I now see they are making a 142GR SMK match load and I will be trying those out. The stock is not an Accustock but a HS stock and it is slightly flexible.

Re: A Couple Savage Questions

The LRP is the long range precision, it has an HS stock on it. I would assume some play but not a lot, my Stockade moves slightly but not enough I can push the barrel to it.

Re: A Couple Savage Questions

I have a savage with the accustock and if grabbing the barrel and the forend together I can make them touch but if loading up the bipod for regular shooting it is still free floated so no worries
