a GREAT reloading website

Re: a GREAT reloading website

Did you happen to watch the first video under the "Dillon" category? Doofus used his pistol to check his chambering on his first load of the loading session, inside his house (or wherever his reloading room is)! What an IDIOT! You would think that someone who is making videos to "teach" people about reloading would own a chamber gage and use it, instead of taking a chance on an AD in his house and showing newbies that this is proper protocol.

Re: a GREAT reloading website

I found that site while searching you tube, I too noticed the chambering a live round, in some of his other vids he uses the barrel of the weapon as a chamber checker.

Re: a GREAT reloading website

I have not seen that part of the videos,

BUT I back when I started reloading, I was shown to size the brass, set the bullet long and close the bolt on the round (with no powder or primmer) to get the OAL.

Then set the bullet down little to get the best OAL.

I do not do that now, but it is a technique. The key is to not have powder or a primmer in the casing.

I have no clue if thats what they did on the site.

No, he had a live round he was using..

Re: a GREAT reloading website

It was a live round. He inserted it into the mag of his 1911 and racked the slide. I am not saying that I have never loaded a gun inside of my house, my truck, a building, etc but that I wouldnt include this as the way to check functionality on video to show to people new to reloading.

I wasnt trying to talk sh*t about you posting the link to the website, only that I was surpised that this method was shown.
