I purchased this 1413 supermatch off gunbroker a couple months ago. It is in pristine shape with very few rounds through it. It is a 1972 model with dovetails on the front and rear. I have been doing load development on my TRG and have not devoted much time to this one. However, a brick of Wolf MT is in its future. The trigger is amazing.

It's been quite the picture taking day, so I figured I would get a couple pictures while the lightbox was out. Enjoy.

I aim to find out. If the test target is any indication, it sure as heck will.

Josh, First off, nice rifle. It nice to see a rifle that old that is in such great condition. I just recently sold one that was in near new perfect condition. However not to sound anal or anything, are you sure you have an 1813 and not a 1413? There are several things that made me wonder.
First off the year. Anschutz did not make 1813 rifles in 1972. They were not introduced until 1979.
Second, the bolt. You have an older style match 54 bolt that has the "wing" safety at the rear of the bolt. Plus your bolt handle is a once piece straight handle with a non removable ball (you will also have the 1407-u9 or 1408-u1 trigger to match the wing bolt). The bolt style changed to a more modern style bolt in the late 70's with the 1413 transitional (1413 with new bolt style and 5071 trigger and serial number ending with an "X"). These 1413s where also sometimes referred to as the 1613 rifle (this is exactly what I sold). The 1813s had the modern style bolt with the safety moved to the trigger (5018 trigger) just like its predecessor the 5071. The modern bolt has a bent bolt handle that has a removable ball (you can unscrew the ball and replace it with a different colored one).
Third, is your barrel the original barrel to the receiver? The original barrel on a 1813 supermatch would actually have that engraved on the top of the barrel. Your barrel has "Anschutz Modell Match 54" which tells me it is also not a 1813 (at least not an 1813 barrel).
Fourth, the stock and the butt plate and hook. The trigger guard on a 1813 has a thick section on the front of the guard. You have an older trigger guard on your rifle. The 1813 stock also has an adjustable cheek rest, yours did not. Also the butt plate and hook of the 1813 stock is different from what you have in the picture, the hook on a 1813 butt plate is adjustable for direction and hook angle. It's hard to see exactly what you have. It might be an older match 54 non adjustable hook or maybe even a freeland but hook.

I thought I would put the differences between the different models since so many people get confused as to exactly what they have. But nevertheless, you have a nice rifle. So how does it shoot? That is really what is important in my mind. You definitely must show us some target groups.

Gene,

That is simply a fat finger error on my part. I am fully aware it is a 1413 supermatch and not the 1813 model. I was on rimfire central immediately prior to posting and was looking through a couple 1813 threads. Don't know how I screwed that one up. Original post is fixed.

Hi Josh,

You have a very nice rifle and I hope it shoots a good as it looks. I just wanted to clear up the confusion and set the record straight since it seems a lot of people are misinformed as to what they actually have. I see it all the time on gunbroker and once in a while on rimfire central.

Enjoy your rifle.
