Why are we calling this a drone? Is this not just a small self propelled, low speed, guided cruise missile?

That's not a "drone" in the quadcopter sense we are used to using the term. Thats a remote controlled airplane with a payload and camera.

During my days of juvenile hijinks (early/mid 90's) my brother and I outfitted a RC glider with a RC car battery, RC Car motor with propeller and an additional servo to pull a pin on a sac containing a bunch of paintballs..... it was awesome but the falling velocity of paintballs wasn't fast enough to break them, they just bounce around.

"Killer" RC drones have been used of shit long time, just as the writer says.

To the point there are some with very nice advancements built into them for the pure purpose of Kamikaze activities.

BUT the home built ones are super easy to render useless. Especially with all the "Drone Killer" products being carried around.
