Ran out of black dye the other day and needed to patch a spot with some epoxy. What to do?

Office supply stores often recycle toner cartridges. A little sweet talking rewarded me with an expired one destined for the scrap heap. Poke hole and start pouring. Mix with a dab of straight resin and it's remarkably similar to the Brownells stuff.

Now we got a mason jar full of the chit.

might help someday in a pinch. Might start seeing magenta bedding jobs too.

How opaque is the dye? Isn't this stuff water based or are you referring to the laser jet toner?

Sounds great! I've long wondered how I could match stock color, instead of just having to settle for uncolored, brown, or black. I tried "hiding" the bedding, like some gunmakers do, but I want it to show.
