I spent about 23 hours in different tree stands this weekend and saw quite a few deer for our part of east Texas. The deer are beginning to get the rut on their mind so the bucks are moving a little and some of the bigger boys are roaming during the daylight hours for a change. I had three mature deer in front of me at different times but didn't get pictures of them as I was busy trying to get a shot off at the time... These first photos are some of the more interesting young deer that I saw and was able to get pictures of, the last five are the mature deer that I have seen at this point. These first five are all of different bucks except for the last two of the freak deer.

These are the three better bucks I got a look at(but no shot) this weekend. Another day I guess...

Cool pics, Cody!
If you can snap them with the camera like that, then the rifle part should be manageable when Mr. Big pops out...

Yea it would be easy with a rifle but for now I'm trying to kill one with a sharp stick. That makes it a little more difficult... I will probabaly switch over to rifle hunting sometime in late November or December.

I find mature bucks easier to get with an arrow later in the season. The last two weeks of January are my favorite with the bow.

I wish we could hunt into Jaunary but as it is our season shuts down at the end of December. As of now, most of the bucks I am getting pictures of are during the night and we are seeing very few during day light hours. Oh well, it doesn't mean I won't try...
