It reminded them, albeit shortly, that doing whatever the fuck you want to benefit yourself regardless of how it effected anyone else, could actually still come to visit you in person.
They had already surrounded themselves with fences and barricades like a bunch of dumbshit cowards long before any of this. They then hid in the side chambers and had panic attacks like a bunch of bitches. They whimpered and crawled around on the floor, huddled together crying, knowing that they had nothing in their character that if they were found, should give them any hope as to a good outcome.
These are our 'leaders' and I use that term loosely as I wouldn't follow any of them through a McDonalds drive thru. See how they respond when something actually effects them?
