We've got a new rifle being made here now.

It's been designed and built by the guy that designed the RPA rifle.

He left RPA some time ago and is now working under the name of Steel Core Designs.

Re: A new Bolt gun out of England

Interesting firearms. Specs look good, looks like another quality weapons platform. Notice no American distributor yet, although Laval Quebec is just north of Montreal . Maybe a chance for a start up business by someone.
Thanks for the info and pics, Nick. Good stuff!

Re: A new Bolt gun out of England

I don't know about a likely price yet. I bought my AW for £3300 and i was told by a friend that i could Maybe get one of these for the same money.

I was wary as it's so new. So new in fact that they still haven't really settled on the stock design yet. But field trials look promising, accuracy is said to be exceptional, so i wish them all the best with it.

As soon as i get some solid information I'll post it on here.

Re: A new Bolt gun out of England

Having been made by the original designer of the RPA there's bound to be similarities. But seeing as he's trading as a different company he can't "Copy" his old design, so it'll be a different beast i think.

Looks like a barrel of dirty, muddy slurry.

Yes I don't like bi-pods attached to barrels at all. That would have to go. It seems strange that they have that heavy angled ( braced ) forend but then attach the bi-pod to the barrel ? Maybe it's not attached to the barrel. Maybe it's attached to the extension of the barrel tube . It is hard to tell from the photo. Anyway it does not look very detachable to me. Also the big angle on the forend would make shooting on a rest or bag more difficult . It would make getting a sight picture elevation easy but recoil tracking would be bad . I like a forend parallel with the bore. I have to agree that the basic stock design is not good. I don't think Accuracy International is all that worried.

I don't think they'll worry either!

Silly man.
That's obviously field-expedient British DPM camo-dip...

Is hard to tell for sure, but looks like the barrel is not touching anything as it exits the handguard. </div></div>
You might be right . I just could not see it well. However it still looks hard to detach . The overall concept of the stock is just not doing it for me. The rear monopod looks like someone stole the knob of the dunny door and it looks crooked and it's " pointed " at the base. You don't want the monopod base pointed it will dig holes like a beauty . A good first attempt but they need to refine it a lot more . The pistol grip looks odd.
I can see where they were going with the big angled back forend. Trying to get maximum rigidity in the area of the recoil lug and to support the light barrel tube but that rake back is just not egonomicly practical in my view.
