Are Vietnam era 40mm signal flares considered NFA items?

Flares I don't believe fall into the DD regulations, but a 40MM launcher would be a DD and subject to all NFA rules.

I don't believe so. I believe they would be just like 40mm chalk rounds or other "non-weapon" rounds, which are unregulated.

Absent a C&R exception any ammunition that has a 1/4 ounce or more of explosive material including the lift charge would be classified as a DD. It sounds like what you may have is a parachute flare round. Parachute flare rounds are not DDs.

Yes, lots of M79/M203's about. Do you have any other colors? Whats your price shipped?

Gunfighter these are old, late 60s, I am not sure that they would still work. As far as I can tell they are just have white.
