I have an AI AT, and am wanting to get a new barrel made for it.
I am wondering what AT barrel profile I have, the old AT profile, or the 2018 AT profile.
Do the first two numbers of the receiver S/N indicates the year of manufacture, and what is the difference between the older profile, and the 2018 profile?

    thanks in advance.........

Didn’t know AI changed the contour. All my new AT barrels are either M24 or MTU contours. I like them better than the quasi palma contour.

Are they win tac ai barrels or customs you have had spun up? Iirm the new contour is kinda between a heavy palma and m24

Thats the old style contour. I might be alone on this, but that contour looks right on ai's. The new style looks like a hvy Palma. I bought a used ae mk2, it came with a very nice bart hv 308. It just looked wrong, like rebarreled 700 in an aics. Luckily I had a proof 6.5creed ai profit, it just looked more ai-ish.

I agree with everyone above that the stupid iconic AI contour is ugly and not heavy enough for a field rifle. Further more, they are known to shoot awful, especially the ones chambered by Tooley. I’ll gladly reimburse the owner for a new barrel blank if you want to get rid of them so you won’t have to look at them.
