A quick and dirty red-letter day

Just finished up my last day at the old employer. Today marks the first day in 5 years that I haven't had to carry around at least 3 cell phones and a laptop all the time. I'm unofficially officially out of the telephony industry.

Tomorrow I start a work-from-wherever job that pays a lot more and has no such thing as on-call. They're flying the team out to Colorado next week (I may drive, though) to meet each other and do some touristy things. Curious if anyone knows any good food/cool stuff to do or see in the breckenridge/buena vista area.

In Frisco there is a place called Hacienda Real by the Safeway. Always been awesome over the last 13+ yrs I have known about it for Mexican. Some of the best around according to many, thats in a state full of pretty good mexican food.
A few doors down is Food Headz. Owned by a friend of a friend. Jim (close friend) knows amazing grub and says its second to none.
Boatyard on mainstreet Frisco is great (little momma loves it too) as is Silver Heels for a good steak.
Buckhorn on main in Frisco for breakfast.

You could go by the hospital and see the memorial to my friend Pat. Nam era chopper pilot who died 3 yrs ago in a Flight for Life chopper crash. Its moving as can be and remembers a man who gave his entire career saving others lives.

In BV, the Eddyline Brewery on South Main has good stuff and tasty brews.

And congrats on a new and better job!!!

Enjoy your new-found freedom. It feels good to be able to leave your work in the office at the end of the day.

That's exactly what I intend to do. Since I can work from anywhere I can get a connection to the internet, I plan on spending a lot more time at the range/reloading/doing all the other shit I've been too busy to do for a while. I've still got lots of powder, bullets, and primers from back when zero was in office I never got around to making use of.

@QuickNDirty You've worked hard for this my friend. The adventure begins! Enjoy and knock it outta the park. ;)

I'ma do my best =)

Looks like Food Hedz is a catering business now =/ I will definitely try to get over there to check out the memorial.

Planning on checking out that memorial. Which hospital is it at?

Drive up to kite lake above Breckinridge to Alma, then above Alma. It’s absolutely beautiful up there. I worked in Alma a few summers managing a rock quarry.
