A sobering reality

I would submit to you that FDR was a symptom - not the problem, while he may have had personal motivations he was working toward something more than himself.

It is worth noting that the rest of everything that you wrote is how America probably viewed itself coming out of the Depression and into the 1950s. America solved its problems as individuals -> families -> communities -> then states and finally at the Fed level. That view of how to live one's life is typically imparted on an older generation and on conservatives.

Since the 1950’s every aspect of our culture has been purposely challenged and eroded. What was charity through the community or the local church (a hand up) morphed into an expansion of Gov and then became a hand out, which is now effectively a ‘right’. The stated purpose is altruistic. The real goal is anything but.

Everyone should review these 45 stated goals and objectives from the 1963 Congressional Record; everyone should understand that Communism in America is merely a tool / stepping stone toward the final plan for one world government / control by a relative handful over all other humans.

After having read it - square up what you see around you.

No doubt poverty and servitude are the goals. Dependent people are easier to control.
With that said, you still have to be a willing participant to play the government poverty game.

Simple. "Fair" means equal, where a percentage of taxation is applied across the board without bias towards one group or another. Eliminate the bias as well as the shelters and loopholes. A good accountant and attorney team should not get one out of paying taxes any more than having six children should.
Absolutely this.........The tax code should be able to be written on a post card. It should be a simple percentage based tax across the board. Lets use 10% as an example you make $1.00 you pay $.10 you make $100,000.00 you pay $10,000.00 no matter what color, sex, race, sexual orientation, how many kids you have, no special carve out for this that or the other period. You want to limit corruption this is a start.

The system is a house of cards built to favor the rich, but every now and then someone with persistence and a good work ethic can win the lottery of the American dream. However, the odds are most certainly against you.

The system is neither easy, nor fair by any means, but it’s the best system I know of to promote healthy competition to continue the drive. But, what we have going on now has somehow become too polarized. In order for the system to keep driving on like a well running machine it has to be balanced with a healthy middle class. Otherwise, it doesn’t work very well. This is what will bring the country down if it does not correct course. Trump knows this and I believe he is doing what he can to restore balance.

No, the richest guys in the world cannot just go in and demand a trillion dollars in cash, but what they can do is buy up resources, to the point that nobody can compete on a scale large enough to restore balance. And with that much wealth in resources they can start buying influence in policy. If that goes on too long it could eventually get to a point where those people are making their own policy and in effect rule. That’s counter to our way of life here in the US. It will be awhile before that happens but it’s certainly a possibility if things do not change. And the longer this polarization goes on the more likely it will be the above scenario at some point. However, to date, I don’t know of any better system. So, what do you do? I believe the system will either self correct, come crashing down or there will one day be a battle between the haves and have nots that will ultimately reset everything.

How did I miss this festering pile of pig shit of a thread?

Who the fuck buys this shit? This “have not” attitude on my Hide?

Un-fucking believable......?

Just because someone has more than someone else, does not mean they took it from you!

Wealth creation is not a single pie divided among millions....

It’s millions of pies created for themselves.... you create your own pie! How hard is this to understand?

Besides that..... “Fairness”, who gets to say what is “fair”? Life is not fair. I have shitty knees and did not get to play football in high school, therefore, I’m not in the NFL making millions.... is life fair? No... I’ve had shit happen, as all of you have. Nobody gets out of this world alive. Fact.

Going around seeking ones “fairness” of conditions is going to make one miserable. Strive for fairness of opportunity instead.

Yes taxes are set up unfairly.... but this shit of envying others wealth and wishing them to not have it IS THE FOUNDATION OF COMMUNIST PROPAGANDA!!!!

Don’t even try to debate me on this shit, you are wasting your time.....

How does a system with progressive taxation favor the rich?
A system where the wealthiest 10% pay 90% of the bills and roughly half of the people pay nothing?

The problem is, government makes it comfortable to be poor.

I'm not at all offended nor upset by it. Just pointing out that the way that the data was presented belies some sort of agenda on pointing out that wealth is unfairly distributed.

To me, there is zero wrong with the way things are. You either make something out of yourself or you choose not to. The simple law of economics apply:
  1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
  2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
  3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
  4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!
  5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.
I am more successful than I ever thought I would ever be coming from Greek immigrants who came here without a pot to piss in. My parents had not even graduated form High School in Greece. They came here and worked their ASSES of 7 days a week in a restaurant they started after working in the leather by piece trade for 5 years with money they saved. My parents who were fiercely proud of their Greek heritage always said that this country is like no other on the planet because your opportunities are not curtailed. I still believe that. I am not what I would consider rich but I live a good life and never begrudge anyone who is more successful than myself. I hear the "lucky" aspect all the time. Luck has little to do with it. Success is part skill, part nerve, lots of hard work and knowing when it is time.

Anyone I have ever met that tells me it is not possible to succeed in the US is someone who I considered as lazy.

Oh, I wasn't lazy, I just didn't have the $50,000 to put into escrow to pay for "fines I may receive during my first two years in business" along with the $50,000 I actually needed to start the company. Who came up with that?

The organized wealth that usurped my representation in government to prevent more competition.

Historically when one group gets too greedy and wants the whole pie, the pie gets fed to the dogs and we go to war. It's axiomatic and a likely a natural law. Communism didn't just pop the fuck up out of nowhere, it was the answer to an unequitable system. In short, if you don't like communism, keep capitalism on a leash.

My grandmother who survived the Depression in the deep south, who ate ketchup mixed with hot water at a diner just so she could feel "normal" and meet people, who worked her ass off and raised half the neighborhood's children, who was a devoted wife to her husband who was the accountant for the Atlas missile project, she got to live comfortably off $500 per month while working under the table for another woman after her husband died. Crippled from rheumatism she got to die comfortably from cancer at 69 --but she looked 69 in her 40's. When she died, she looked a lot more like 90. Her retirement would have been slightly more comfortable, if she'd lived that long.

Problem is, government makes it too comfortable to be rich.

When my world was small, I used to think small. When my world got bigger, I had to think bigger.

Communism was dreamed up by Karl Marx, a deadbeat bum who never held a real job and was kept up by his friend Fredrick Engels.

Oddly enough one of the biggest proponents of communism in the US is Bernie Sanders, someone who also never held a real job, until elected to government.

Communism and socialism imposes the average on everyone.
Only below average people would see a benefit from that system.

In your "big world", are you aware that FDRs policies made the depression both worse and longer?

http://newsroom.ucla.edu/releases/FDR-s-Policies-Prolonged-Depression-5409

While your grandmother was eating ketchup soup FDR was ordering crops to be destroyed to keep food prices high.

On the other hand, there was also a depression in 1921, that was left alone to correct itself, and it did so quickly, it's called the forgotten depression.

When liberal folks at work start to go on about Income Equality, I just look at them and say "It's a fallacy". When they (always) try to rebut, I just say "Look up the term 'Pareto Principle', and tell me, how are you going to change something that has existed since the dawn of human civilization?".

Crickets...

"Quit worrying about what others have, and focus on what you have. Family, health, income...all of it. There's a lot more to being wealthy than just income. And if you disagree with that, than I would argue, you're part of the problem."

Yeah, wouldnt want to inconvenience the multi billionaires.

But taxation is legal.
First you have to understand that taxation is nothing more than legalized theft. Once everyone gets a grip on that simple fact only then can the system be fixed. It was predicted long ago by the framers as to where we are at today. I sure wish they would have installed term limits for any/every tic voted in. People by nature are all about more, there is never enough.

Do you do statistics much and do you keep your eyes open? If answer to that is yes and your actually at least average then you know what will happen in US in near future. Would you rate coming generations compared to previous ones as at least average or not?

Marx may have been a dead beat but not much different than another dead beat few thousand years before (like at year 0) and what it (idea that is) does is it gives hope to other dead beats who realize strength is in numbers and if society does it best to keep those numbers up - like ours and particularly yours started doing few decades back the great Casino gets a reset either a hard one or soft one - not much difference.
But since some of you are very clear on how life is not fair i see no logic in fighting communism its simple fact of life - accept it and try to realize what is the root cause of it at least you wont die surprised or ignorant as point of no return has already been passed i think.
The classical capitalism is long gone however some choose to ignore it regardless of numerous writings on the wall (women working instead of taking care of home, having two even three jobs to just keep up, quality of food down the drain, cities filled with scum, industries exported to world shitholes where items that cost xy $ are made for peanuts, people in corporations being sucked dry and discarded when they burn out etc...) .

This really needs to be told more often, so many people try to claim FDR's Communists and State control ideas fixed things, but they just made it way worse like every Communist idea. Solve some people starving by making everybody starve. Solve some farmers getting more money by better farming methods by not letting anyone farm..

It wasn't even keeping farmers from making money.
They were worried about food prices being too cheap and hurting the market, so instead of having affordable food be available to unemployed starving people, they paid farmers to destroyed it.

A good book on this subject, and many others, that challenges how we're indoctrinated to think of things is "Defending the Undefendable" by Walter Block

It got worse than that, FDR and his Communist filth actually prohibited people at gunpoint from growing food for their own use.
They actually made it illegal to grow food on your own land for your own use if some bureaucrat decided it was better you starve.

(And of course the corrupt supreme court at the time rubber stamped it like just about everything evil he did).

It's hard to get any more Stalinist than that. Yet the stupids is this country count him as some kind of hero to be looked up to.

Wickard v. Filburn

https://www.naturalnews.com/030799_food_freedom_Wickard_vs_Filburn.html

The scary news is that decision is still on the books as law... so the federal government can if they want come tell you that you best not be growing vegetables in your back garden because that competes with Monsanto (now owned by Bayer) or they will throw you in prison. Scary stuff.

Take the time to read that whole article, the Feds are actively raiding small farms at gunpoint anytime they wish.
Some of my father's neighbors used to sell some of their goat milk to people in the local town, till they got a visit in the early morning hours from a bunch of men with guns....

When the times come, you'll need your guns just to be able to grow natural healthy food.

That is scary.

But surprising. After all, the politicians must support their owners, Monsanto/Bayer, etc.

What is worse, is if that happens many or most of the "Good" LE & military will be right in step with orders to rob you at gun point & most of the local population of "sheep" will be cheering right behind them. Just like the many other unconstitutional acts in the past that were eventually repudiated and those that weren't. History of every villainous regime bears that out, as does our own history.

Only this time I think if it gets bad enough people with the knowledge, ability, training and equipment will decide to fight back and make it very costly for those obeying the overlords, which in turn may create a bloodbath of historical proportions before it is all over. Unlike other countries where they have a serf mentality in their genetics, there are enough here that are willing to fight the communists to the death up front rather than starve to death in the camps.

One of the point plots I like in Atlas Shrugged, you know they are going to seize all the stuff of yours they can find.... so make sure if they seize it, it does them absolutely no good & only makes things worse.

Not so sure about that? Once the perception of almost unlimited compliance is out the window an a few get tagged, reality will sink in like it did with the LAPD shooting up Grandma over a no name who had no specialized training at all. When ones buddy gets tagged from a place unknow or w/o sound, many may quickly catch the flu. Perception an the word of God, is the only thing holding good men from doing evil things, to take this country back. I've seen Swat teams who were all that in training, up until they started playing real tag with those who could dish it out better than they could. Some had second an third thoughts about being all that, there after. I know of one team in a training gig who had their ass handed to them in the first 45 seconds of contact an when they reviewed the tapes they still had no clue as to what they were getting into prior to. Over whelming force is one thing, nothing to lose, no rules an proper training can trump a large force quickly. Then there are so many chock points within any A/O, that most never think about even though they pass them every day.

Just the ramblings of a old one eyed fat guy, it's nap time now. Wait what were we talking about? Oh yes the opening 45 minutes of the coming movie.

Such action is going to be sold to those tasked / the public the same way evil that is going on right this very second is sold. We've all been conditioned to accept the predefined instruction from the top.

- Benevolence and charity in American culture is no longer the norm. What was family to family / friend to friend / church / local community support - a hand up to a fellow neighbor, has been supplanted by a hand out from Government, all in an engineered plot to secure votes. More perniciously, (in conjunction with the FED) destroy America from within. Right now - people confuse the Natural Rights of Man, with a Right to Health Care or a Right to Housing - that is a Right to Steal. Understand something - this was FULLY understood as the plan was implemented and continued to morph and include more and more Government teet to more and more specific demographic groups.

- People have been brainwashed for compliance from early childhood - you "must" share / school systems / PC / Guilt / Group Think / Shunning. In a crisis situation and given all of the brainwashing mechanisms in play - that the whole is more important than the individual is an easy intellectual sell.

- Particularly in dense MSAs you are witnessing the sustained efforts to disarm America by any means - we have seen an bright line cultural shift right after Columbine.

Boston house to house was an interesting barometer on the nation.
