A sobering reality

Maggot, did you take the blue Bernie pill?

I love it when ya talk rough, baby.

NO, bud, how do I put it? Jefferson put it well "

"This institution will be based on the illimitable freedom of the human mind. For here we are not afraid to follow truth wherever it may lead, nor to tolerate any error so long as reason is left free to combat it."
- Thomas Jefferson to William Roscoe, December 27, 18204

Blessing or curse, I have to examine every aspect of everything, without fear of finding out I may be wrong, or able to improve. Thats just the way Im wired. Ive never been a follower...I accept Trumpster as president, but I damn dont 'follow' him, nor any ideology.

What caught my attention on that vid was that I already knew that shit, but when it gets thrown in my face it seems so strange...it peaks my interest to understand why. I find thaere are elements of truth in most everything, one just needs to separate the nuggets from the turds. When you see it, the answer is really pretty simple. Sharac knows. You know but you'd accuse me of a tinfoil hat if I told you.

Maggster out.

"How much dose anyone need". Where have I heard this before??????? Now I remember, the left uses questions like this all the time, its called class warfare. A very similar question the left likes too ask is "Who needs an AR15", " who needs 30 round magazines", "who needs an assault weapon"? Thankfully I live in a country where I can have what I want. Its called freedom. It would suck to live someplace where you only got what you need.

I thought the first ten Constitutional Amendments was called "The Bill of Needs".

It's a fucking rigged casino and if someone accidentally gets (crumbs) some modest winnings that still doesn't mean the game in general for everyone is fair. Entire narrative of "in this country anyone can succeed" is a bullshit fairytale and has long been such (remember the railroad tycoons and how much good did Colt 45 do for those farmers who stood in a way of "progress").

Low odds of winning doesn't mean a game is rigged. Outcomes and opportunities are not the same thing.

"(remember the railroad tycoons and how much good did Colt 45 do for those farmers who stood in a way of "progress""

No I don't. Why don't you post up some supporting facts.

Perhaps you should also google up charities that people such Gates etc.. finance - not to mention various NGOs some of them directly robbing you of your rights.

I'm not sure what the solution is, but I know what it is not and that is more government intervention. We need to roll back a LOT of regulations to help small businesses succeed.

The American Dream is still alive, but less than it was 40 years ago. Still, anyone focused on getting ahead still can. It will require a buttload of hard work and doing without (doing without things we think we need - newest smart phone, the right clothes fashions, a car we really can't afford, a house we really can't afford). Are average Americans willing to work hard and do without? Sadly, no. Most are not - most on this forum are, but the vast majority think that the newest iPhone is a right and that government should provide one to people who can't "afford" one.

As for the bottom whatever percent - I truly feel sad for them because the educational system has failed them and the democrat party uses them as pawns...they just can't see that.

I have no solution. All I know is that I studied my butt off in school while everyone else was out partying in the bars picking up women.

So are successful people to be punished for taking chances, working hard, and doing what other refuse to do? Again, I have no solution - I'm just trying to take care of my family.

Imho, what would be "fair" is to tax those making over say $10 million a year much more than they are now. They can absorb say a 50% tax rate. Take the savings and reduce the tax burden on those making less than $100K/year. Sure, they may have to sell one of their dozen mansions or one of their private jets. But I doubt it.

And neither do most 'conservatives'. While those admonitions are right...finish school, get a job, etc. are correct, the facts are that if you live in the inner city ghetto areas, it might be tough to impossible to finish school if mom works 3 jobs just to make the food and rent. Plus the schools they get left with after white flight to the burbs are third rate at best. Its tough to impossible to get a job if there just arent any and the competition is 10 to one for the ones that are. That leave 9 without.

Im not making excuses nor saying its impossible, but not all can fill the place where there is only one opportunity. Its sad that so few can see it.

Let's assume that wealth inequality is as bad as they say. How do we solve the problem? We always say: start taxing the very rich. But they have scores of lawyers who can find them "loopholes" or they can buy lawmakers who push tax breaks that benefit them. The rich have the resources and will to lower their tax burden.
The second question is why? Why do we need to tax the rich even more than we already do? In 2018 US tax revenue was 6.2 TRILLION dollars. All 2208 billionaires in the WORLD account for a total net worth of 9.1 Trillion dollars. So the US is making 2/3rd of that money EVERY YEAR.

How do we better spend the money that is already being taken in should be the question, not how do we take more money away from people. The US Gov't has more money than they NEED. (Btw our debt is $22T which isn't bad when you consider how much we as a nation make every year. That's a 5 year mortgage if go rice and beans, beans and rice)

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/wealthy-leave-md-suburbs-irs-data-show

https://www.realclearmarkets.com/20...llionaires_are_leaving_california_215628.html

Not the best sources but the underlying message is true. The wealthy will move reducing the revenue which guts the services the truly desperate need.

Wrong.

So much wrong.

Il jump all over the fuck the .gov/big business collusion but taxing someone like that kills jobs and guess what they move away too and shelter the money.

Edit: why is reducing .gov never part of the discussion? Cut taxes on everyone.
Get rid of fraud
Stop paying the rat clas to have kids
Fire 99% of the .gov "workers". And 2/3 of the tax and harass cops that can't investigate crime but have all day to run radar and find new ways to violate the constitution.
Stop giving our money away
Etc
Etc
Etc
But never gonna happen

If you tax them 75% its more money for the Govt. Everyone knows how they spend so frugally (sarcasm). May as well throw it in the shitter. If the earner gets to keep more they invest more and that helps everyone. There has to be a balance. Taxation kills motivation to make more. and making more means jobs.

IMO-Fairness is everyone being treated equally.

Take the full federal budget amount, divide it by the number of adults, and that's your tax bill.

If that happened, the amount of spending for foolish nonsense like the sexual behavior of quail on cocaine would disappear overnight.

Gasoline, milk, and any other product isn't priced on your ability to pay, so why should government?
That someone showed more initiative than another is no reason they should subdidize the slacker.

Interesting plan, if only for the fact that we would probably get a full on shooting civil war the following day. Everybody would be out killing everybody day 1 and the politicians that voted for that law would be the first against the wall.

Man nail on the head.. I just returned from China - thats a system that keeps the impoverished, impoverished. Period..

We let some illegally into the country at an alarming rate, without proper vetting as such they are handicapped and can not contribute the same way as if they came in legally. We let our cities create subcultures glamorizing the thug life and skimping on education, many of todays kids that are educated believe they are entitled and do not want to did the hard work, but choose rather bitch about inequality and promote socialism..

These things will keep these people poorer than those that put their head down and work.

I think first things first is to get the public to understand is what the core functions of OUR Government are as set forth by the founding fathers; secondly educate the public as to the current level of corruption associated with Government sponsored largesse.

The immigration issue is just one facet of such. Do you realize that each child that comes to the border is worth $59,000 per annum in grant money? What if I told you that all of those kids at $59M per head went into the care and custody of 1 of 3 non profits that were crony’s of the machine? What if I told you that just one of those companies has already generated $300+ million in 2018 - just one of the 3, and not a full year....

Now what if I told you that the same people that you don’t enjoy equal footing with, are the same people that have means and access to advance their own crony business plans by sponsoring grants to write white papers, that become policy suggestions, that can then be floated in front of senior level bureaucrats with their revolving door, and finally to corrupt politicians to make it law? And when it fails, and they’ve skimmed for all it was worth and it imploded? You picked up the tab.

What if I told you that if you got rid of the Private Federal Reserve Bank, and stopped paying the vig on $21T to PRIVATE PARTIES, and we made a real Federal Bank, and we got rid of the corruption - we could pay for all this shit? And because barriers and impediments were removed, free thinking people with drive could achieve whatever they could dream?

What if we all came to understand that the history of the 20th century was really just manipulation? Could you imagine a world free of such? Only the truth will make people aware, and therefore vigilant against this again in the future. After all - it truly is man behind the curtain stuff.

Wouldn't it be easier to just kill the poor?

I don't remember voting for it

Unfortunately a little over a hundred years ago, a bunch of stupid brain controlled zombies voted for that, thanks to some rather effective propaganda and one of the most bought & paid for presidents there had ever been up till that time. Under of course the Communist rabble rousing cry of "Make the Rich pay their fair share".

Without that, the government would not have been able to properly sell you & your future descendants into financial slavery to the international money rulers. That was when the federal government was given the power to rule your life in every aspect like they do now.

That begs the question of why millions of illegals risk their lives for the opportunity so many say is near impossible?

Perhaps it's because they know what real poverty looks like.

If you took the average person below the poverty level, without a legitimate disability and horse whipped them until there is no skin left on their back, and told them they had six months to heal, find work and be fully self supporting, or they'd get anothet dose, 99+% would miraculously be cured of poverty.

I'm not advocating this be done, just illustrating that what most people describe as a lack of opportunity is actually a lack of motivation.

When the urban poor start leaving this country in rafts made if trash, we can talk about lack of opportunity.

All due to people like you wanting to take my money and buy them a train to get to fertile robbing and raping territory.

A GED and CDL is the quickest way for any young man or woman to break into the middle class from the lowest of poverty. Companies are clamoring for drivers right now, starting pay is $50k easy with paid training. Just have to lay off the wacky weed to pass the physical, and be willing to work for what you receive. Therein lies the crux though.

I don’t if you watched the video or not quiet mike but this is the type of reaction that the film is prompting - an us vs them based on where one is on the sliding scale of wealth.

Here is a question - why are illegals coming here? (b/c they are getting free money). Why is it that the Gov (read as persons more special than you or I) has manipulated the role and function of Gov, and without your (certainly my) consent - they have been handing out those tax dollars to said illegals? Why have they created a welfare system that fosters intergenerational welfare?

This thread makes me laugh and shake my head at the same time. Everyone on the Hide is a "conservative" until it comes time to do conservative shit on the subject of taxes.

What in your opinion is the role of a conservative with respect to taxes?

What in your opinion is the role of a conservative with respect to taxes?
Simple. "Fair" means equal, where a percentage of taxation is applied across the board without bias towards one group or another. Eliminate the bias as well as the shelters and loopholes. A good accountant and attorney team should not get one out of paying taxes any more than having six children should.

If you really wanted to have a more "fair" taxing idea, for most people we should ONLY have a straight sales tax, covering all categories of goods and services, stock purchases etc, at the same rate with no exceptions for various groups or organizations. Then an import tax as needed based on trade negotiations. No income taxes, no property taxes, no levies on owning things.

You would also however need to put a tax on stashing money outside the country as that is the first thing the corporations and super rich would do (much like how they do it now where Google USA makes next to nothing but Google Barbados makes billions).

If only the government could do something similar to help the poor.

Just have to lay off the wacky weed to pass the physical, and be willing to work for what you receive.

Expecting someone to give up weed AND work is another racist plot by the white man.

Don't misunderstand, I fully support ending all entitlement spending at the federal level for some of the same reasons.
Firstly, the constitution does not allow the feds to be in the charity business, and they weren't for the first 150+ years. Then FDR realized he could buy votes with tax money and pandoras box was opened.

More importantly, pain is the only cause for change. If a behavior doesn't cause discomfort on some level, there's no reason to alter it.
When the government essentially says it will pay people not to work and squat out illegitimate kids, lots of folks sign up for that job.

As for us vs. them, a homeowner will always feel animus toward a burglar. There's no difference between that and s taxpayer despising a perfectly able moocher.

Yeah, wouldnt want to inconvenience the multi billionaires.

But taxation is legal.

This notion that we should tax the rich more just because they can afford it is ridiculous. Kinda shocking actually. I’m not a rich dude, and don’t have the slightest interest in a rich guys wealth. That idea can be trickled right down to my doorstep, when the collective decides what kind of wealth I need.

On a slightly different topic. I find it difficult to care at all about rich people getting richer when the global poverty rate is tanking at such an extreme rate. I didn’t vet this site, but I’ve seen similar stats all over.

I would submit to you that FDR was a symptom - not the problem, while he may have had personal motivations he was working toward something more than himself.

It is worth noting that the rest of everything that you wrote is how America probably viewed itself coming out of the Depression and into the 1950s. America solved its problems as individuals -> families -> communities -> then states and finally at the Fed level. That view of how to live one's life is typically imparted on an older generation and on conservatives.

Since the 1950’s every aspect of our culture has been purposely challenged and eroded. What was charity through the community or the local church (a hand up) morphed into an expansion of Gov and then became a hand out, which is now effectively a ‘right’. The stated purpose is altruistic. The real goal is anything but.

Everyone should review these 45 stated goals and objectives from the 1963 Congressional Record; everyone should understand that Communism in America is merely a tool / stepping stone toward the final plan for one world government / control by a relative handful over all other humans.

After having read it - square up what you see around you.

While it may be true Obama does not want to engage directly in Washington politics, including personally protesting Trump’s policies, he is using a political organizing group he founded to do that for him.

That nonprofit — Organizing for Action — is not exactly a household name. But it is no less than the organizing and training hub of the anti-Trump resistance.....

Meanwhile, OFA has formally partnered with one of the angriest resistance groups, Indivisible Project, which has been criticized for using overly aggressive protest tactics against Republicans at town-hall meetings. Indivisible plans to deploy OFA-trained agitators to storm Republican districts during the Fourth of July recess, starting this weekend, to shout down “Trump’s racist policies,” according to its website.

OFA brings in between $6 million and $14 million in donations a year, and is funded in part by Democracy Alliance, which is connected to the radical group that dispatched agitators to march outside Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen’s Virginia town house, blaring an audiotape of crying immigrant children and chanting “No justice, no sleep!” The group, CREDO Action, also held signs calling Nielsen a “child snatcher” and shouted, “You’re a modern-day Nazi!”

With the help of 40 full-time staffers, OFA trains volunteers in the hard-core tactics popularized by the late Chicago radical Saul Alinsky, including smearing and intimidating opponents and mobilizing angry mobs to convey the appearance of a mass movement that enjoys a good deal of public support.

Alinsky trainers schooled Obama in these same tactics when he was an organizer in South Side Chicago.
