A thoughtful commentary by John Roberts

I didn’t read the article, but did he say anything about wiping his ass with the constitution, or making shit up as he goes along?

Why dont you try reading the article before you wipe your ass with your attitude?

Yes, he does...

But...what he says below is absolutely horse-shit and most non-biased, free thinking people see it for what it is...

And IMO some self-relection will be needed to get past the dark days ahead of us...but sadly I do not have much hope...

"The following month, he criticized Trump for referring to some federal judges as “Obama judges,” reiterating that the judicial branch is independent."

Yes, he does...

With that I can agree.

Did you read the article?

i read it. at no time did he mention his fellow Justices that have spoken out loudly with pro-socialist partisan rhetoric, and anti-Trump biases.

maybe he is taking a "politically independent" judiciary for granted, seeing as he basically reaffirmed the 1/6th government take-over of the economy? Surely, he wouldnt play politics, would he?

With that I can agree.

BTW, the horse-shit I mentioned can go both ways. Meaning, legislation from the bench can go both ways...equally detrimental IMO.

I for one, believe it to be nearly impossible for our own biases to not impact our judgement.

And of course 1A affords anyone to speak on behalf of their beliefs...But what he says is a blatant disregard of reality and an insult on our intelligence.

I don’t need to read the article. The man is just like any lefty out there, he make a decision based on his feewings instead of whether it’s constitutional or not. Either that, or somebody has some serious dirt on him that he doesn’t want brought to light. When he backed Obamacare, and legislated taxes from his bench, I didn’t give a fuck what else he has to say.

Ok, I read the article. Sounds like he’s tootin his own horn and trying to make himself look totally independent of politics, and anybody who disagrees with him can kiss his ass. (Not his words, but my interpretation.)

Plus, it’s the Huffington Post, one of the most leftist publications in the nation, trying to make Roberts look like a Saint, hmmm..., while at the same time writing this crock-o-shit in the same story:
The security of America’s democratic elections has been a major concern ever since the U.S. intelligence community determined that Russia orchestrated an extensive online disinformation campaign to sway the last presidential election in 2016. .
More crap made up by the left.

Do I disagree with what he says? No. But why come out with this now? I think he’s just doing damage control, and he’s using the totally independent <sarcasm> HuffPost to do it.

what hes prefacing is just like what Eric Holder prefaced and is setting up. There will be massive voter fraud in this country by the Democrats and then they are going to continue to blame Russia and then hit the Republicans over the head with those two turd legislative bills that the Repubs have stalled that have names like "Super duper election security for Democracy Bill" and in reality the contents have nothing to do with "securing our elections".

Roberts is compromised and has been for 10 years.

I read his comments on a different feed than HuffPost yesterday.

Unbiased judges...you're kidding me right. The judicial branch is as biased as CNN on all matters. The entire judicial branch connected to the FISA court should hang for treason. As the man in charge, he should be the first. He is doing nothing but distancing themselves from the political organizations to provide an alibi for receiving knowingly false information to allow them to grant the surveillance warrants to the Obama team.

The comments are nothing more than chaff and diversion. He has no idea what our Republic is based upon.

Hopefully, he soon will

Another disastrous Bush (like father like son) court appointee. Thanks to him, we still have Obamacare and Trump has not been able to be as aggressive on immigration as he'd like. This guy has been a major disappointment to conservatives, again (remember Souter?).

We desperately need a 5th hardcore conservative on the Court. As it stands now, he's just as likely to side with the leftists on the Court as he is with Conservatives. Until we get that solid 5th vote, I would not count on the Supreme Court to do jack shit to defend the 2nd Amendment.

The general responses here go to show reaffirm my observation that the right is just as biased and prejudiced as the left. You could be handed a chunk of gold by a democrat and scorn it for that reason.

As far as I can determine from the article he basically implied that the judiciary WAS INTENDED TO BE AND SHOULD BE unbiased, not that it entirely was or is.

And his observation that lack of civics instruction in schools was leading to a decline in understanding how things (should) operate is right on. Apathy kills freedom as sure as a bullet. We're dealing with that in Virginia right now.

Obama talked a good game too, he was still full of shit and so is Roberts. His persistent can kicking of notable 2A violations by not allowing them to come before the court shows just how full of shit he is, never mind his flawed decisions relating to the ACA.

And civics education in school? I don't want that one skewed and perverted by the NEA like they have everything else. I'd rather sex ed stay in school and the Constitution be taught in the home than the reverse.

I don't want a "hardcore conservative" in the sense they side with Republican Party agenda.

I want a "hardcore conservative" in the sense they will fight for the original interpretation of the Constitution........

Party agenda be damned.

^^^^^^This quote of Roberts from the article tells you plain as day that is is a swamp creature.^^^^^^

Political extremists (either left or right) don't really understand the purpose of the Supreme Court, nor do they understand how justices rule on cases. This is not your local congressional representative sent with a mission to advance a political agenda.

Roberts is one of the most conservative justices the court has had in a generation. He is amongst Scalia, Thomas and Alito as the most conservative. He has sided on "liberal" issues less than .5% of the time in which he has swung the decision. Liberal judges side with conservative judges all the time. And conservative judges with liberals all the time, as well. Gorsuch and Kavanaugh have already had swing decisions where they sided with liberals because that is how they interpret the law.

Liberals dont think Roberts is anything other than a staunch conservative. Conservatives dont think Roberts is anything other than a staunch conservative. If you think Roberts is a conservative disappointment or a lefty, you are so far right that you wont be satisfied with any Supreme Court Justice ever.

the fuckers going down with the swamp. Someone has dirt on him, probably with his dick in a little boy while he was on Epstein's Island

Check the article again, because that was the author who wrote that, not a quote from Roberts.

This is why you have to be very careful when reading shit from the left

Every political person in this corrupt gov is a swamp creature. They are only serving to help themselves. Make no mistake about it and sadly I think it trickles down a good ways from the upper echelons.

I have no use for Roberts. His decisions are consistent they make me think he has epilepsy.

Roberts is more worried about the perceived "fairness" of HIS court than he is about the Constitution.
The Hacks- in-Black need to be put in their place and moved back to the basement under the Senate chamber.

He took a fall at his home last month. Injured his forehead bad enough that he was hospitalized. So, he's forgotten he's a conservative.

Wrong. He has his ass beaten by Leftists. Now he votes with them. Get it?

OR...”maybe“ we can just recognize when the actions don’t match the words. To borrow from @pmclaine, a brilliant tome on the sanctity of human life written by a Dahmer or Manson would be met with a similar assignment of credibility.
