I don't think I have read "Devotion" but I remember reading about someone from Philips Academy who heard that speech... and also went on to great things. Certainly wasn't Stansfield Turner! I think it was someone from the OSS.
Anyway, the man did a very selfless thing for his wingman in Korea... As I have said many times... every generation has their greatest. This man was among his.
