A2 gas block removal

How much would it cost a gunsmith to remove a A2 gas block and install a new one?

I am doing this because I need an M9 bayonet on the end of my rifle.....ok I don't need one, but I sure do want one (my current one is sawed off or is a post-ban one, don't know, but I need one with a bayonet lug).

I don't have any vices or tools so that is why I am asking.

Thanks,

Re: A2 gas block removal

You can DIY a job like that without a vice and any "high-tech" tools, but since your rifle is a post-ban config. (or at least your FSB is), the big question is "does it have a permanently attached muzzle device?"

If so, you aren't going to be able to do the job quite so easily because your muzzle device is permanently (okay...semi-permanently) attached (blind-pinned or welded).

Here is a link to an outfit I have used for various AR gunsmithing in the past. I highly recommend them...their work is excellent and they offer a quick turn around. You'll need the FSB replacement service, and depending on the condition of your muzzle device, you may need them to remove your "permanently installed" device:
