Old Skool, circa 1950's, back when A&F actually were an outdoors shop. Found the tin in my Grand Dad's old hunting stuff. Now i am using her for my emergency shotgun cleaning kit.

pretty sweet. I remember to going to an outfitters in AK and seeing an A&F shotgun and canoe it was pretty interesting stuff.

David Abercrombie and Ezra Fitch are definitely rolling over in there graves. The original company went bankrupt in 76' and the present incarnation is only similar in name alone. Originally A&F was a high-end sports store in Manhattan specializing in expeditions, tents, fly rods, and shotguns.
If you were a member of the Explorer Club in the early 20th century you were being outfitted by either A&F or Willis & Geiger.
It truely makes me ill when I see the teeny bopper's sporting A&F.

Very cool and I always like checking out the old style kit. That case is a far cry better than the P.O.S. Hoppes and similar gear you see on the store shelves nowadays.

I was fortunate enough to grow up in New York in the late heyday of A&F. Bought a fair bit of stuff from them over the yrs and got some kicks hanging out in the store.
Howard Geiger was a lifelong friend of my Dad's: he was kind enough to have his shop make me a custom sheepskin coat. Sure did love that jacket.
America had a bit more "grace" in those days. Wish some of it had been durable enough to stick around

me too, something like that at least.
I dont know if its just the store here in New Orleans, but I have to cover my noise when I walk by cause it had a severe a&f cologne smell, that is soooooo thick it makes me gag.
That is def the store where all the local tool bag get their "gear"
that and the local "balla shop" is where the gangsta make it rain.

Banana Republic used to be mostly safari type clothing that was made in the USA and made well. Now its all faux european clothing that's made in some third world country and a sneeze from a fly destroys it.
