I have been trying to do some research, but haven’t found anything definitive. Does there seem to be much more point of impact shift or degradation in consistency/repeatability with the quick detach cans (like the AAC 762SD) over strict thread on cans? The reason I ask - I will probably try to pull triple duty between my custom 1000yd rifle my Fal’s and AR’s. But I am most concerned about its performance on my 1000yd rifle.
Thanks

Every time I put my 7.62 SD on my DPMS LR308, the POI is EXACTLY the same as it was last time. It changes elevation by 1 moa. No windage change WHAT SO EVER. Now I must say this is on MY rifle.

I'm having a 243AI built that I will use the same can on and i'm still waiting on friggin dies to try it on my 6.5x47L. I'll report my findings if I ever get to use it on my other 2 rifles.

Threaded cans actually meter slightly better than QD cans. But if you want modulatiry I would go with a QD ..... but keep in mind the attachment to the gun may not be legal in some sanctioning shooting bodies.
