About to order MPA 6.5 PRC

I'm about to order MPA 6.5 PRC but not sure I should stick with 6.5 Creedmoor or go with 6.5 PRC cartridge rifle.
Our range is set up for max 900 yards so I can't go beyond 900 yards.
Also, the round is a little more expensive compare creedmoor and probably hard to sell down the road since it's not a popular cartridge.
Anyone with a similar experience or dilemma before?

I see... the ballistic looks impressive with 6.5PRC but Creedmoore is more practical I guess.
Yeah, hard to access a range with a mile distance but planning to visit sometime this year.

Prc does make the wind its bitch, or at least makes it easy. Target from a nasty switchback gusts. Friends were getting ate up by wind with 6.5 creed's, my 243cutright and prc did fine. I only shot one rd with prc, cold clean bore and called a headshot before I sent it

I dont mind it at all, but I'm used to 60°. I'd rank it below my well used ae's and my melonited badger 2013, but better than the at I had. If I remember correctly it partially cocks on opening and fully cocks on close. I had an axiom, it felt nice, but I had some issues with it including one bolt lug that didnt even make contact when in battery. I would steer clear of those. I actually traded that axiom barreled action (had a 18" cheap 6.5creed barrel on it) for a new deadline action, 308&prc bolt heads, action wrench, deadline barrel nut & nut wrench. I'd gladly make that trade again today.

I should add, the deadline is no impact, ive got one. So if you are looking for buttery smooth cycling then I'd pass on a deadline. The deadline does have several things going for it, but also a few small hurdles. The bolt is very similar design as an ai ae. Oversized bolt body that rides in action, and no lug raceway. Bolt stop doesnt impact on a lapped lug(good thing), but because of that big bolt body, the rear action screw is a little shorter and mag will need to sit lower. Meaning, on a chassis, the rear screw will need shortened and probably the mag latch will need shortened. I had my deadline in a manners mini chassis gen2, krg w3, and aics(bedded tang).

Well take my experience for what you paid for it...lol. I had a locking lug that never had a mark in the finish, the other 2 had varying degrees of wear in the finish. There was alot of sharp edges everywhere on that action, no where near as refined as tl3 or even an origin in finish. I was shooting a 6.5 barrel on it and a 6mm wildcat. The wildcat was kind of a pain to form and that action had extremely sharp areas in lug abutment areas. Empty brass would get gouged pretty deep on the lug abutments.

Terminus is owned/started up by Joel, he was the engineering whiz previously at curtis. Basically, as I understand it, he took his designs and knowledge elsewhere and started terminus. Read into that what you will.

24" Sendero barrel
BA hybrid chassis w/ side folding stock (Brunt Bronze color)
Trigger tech 1.5LB
30mm 1.125 Scope mount

Curtis Axioms are fantastic actions. There is a huge mob mentality on this site. People like to pile on just because. Sometimes completely unwarranted as they dont have first hand experience. I have had several axioms with absolutely no problems. They feel much better to me than the Origin action everyone raves about. The MPA barrels are hammers as well.

Of course if someone has first hand experience don’t discount that.

Origins feel nice as long as your trigger doesnt cause alot of cock on close. The axiom do feel nice, I dont think I said otherwise. Uneven lug contact, similar to a factory 700, is unacceptable to me in a 1000 action. Also, as I mentioned, there is alot of sharp edges. Seemed like the only nice radiused corners on mine was what was saw with it in a stock.

If you want a great 90° that is top shelf, get an impact. If you want a very nice 90° that you can swap bolt heads to other sizes and are cheap for the quality, get an origin. For 60° I like badger 2013 and my deadline, deadline has swappable boltheads and savage barrel threads if that's your thing.
