That's quite possibly the dumbest thing I've seen today and since the plan is to watch Iron Man 2 tonight it's not likely to be dethroned.

If they're ever invaded by Flaming Brick-istan I think they'll fare well.

I wonder if the guy at 45sec realizes he came about 2" from death. What in the hell are they thinking? I would say a shortage on wood equates to fewer target stands but their setting that stuff ablaze like they get bonus points for it so that's not it.

Not to self: Don't join the Romanian Military.

That's just Fricking insane. I know that they are quite crazy in the former USSR how they train their SF and all but that has to be at the top in stupidity. All that time and money to train one of them then ooops I missed...

That is the most retarded thing I've ever seen. I wouldn't doubt that the first time those douches see actual combat they shit their pants. WTF good does breaking blocks do you in combat situations? There's a reason American SF's don't train like those idiots.

Not sure if they still do it, but the SAS used to use live people in their Killing House as part of their hostage rescue training.

Basically as a Trooper, you'd be expected to play the part of the hostage as your Oppo's came in and cleared the room. This included taking out targets right next to the "hostage"..

Allegedly various Royals and senior Politians who have toured Bradbury Lines have also played "hostage" in there...

as for the shooting the tile, dont you trust your shooting skills at 50 feet? thats an easy ass target, only a retard would miss.

I think it was in Rogue Warrior where I read that his seal team were expected to shoot 3x5" index cards with a pistol!

Notice the size of the spacers between the objects they are breaking. As you break the top one, because of the space, it allows transference of energy into the object beneath it. It aids greatly in breaking them. Still, I wouldn't want to get punched in the face by one of those guys...

<span style="font-weight: bold">Granted that type of training could be considered extremely reckless</span>, but from a SF perspective I suppose it helps the shooter psychologically prepare for situations where shots may need to be taken in close proximity to teammates or hostages, and could build the confidence needed to commit to the decision to fire in such a situation. It could also serve to mentally condition the troops to become acclimatized to taking live fire in their direction. Imagine, if you had to hold a target and watch someone fire at it with an AK 5 times a week or so, the pins and needles feeling might go away after a couple months.

I would like to know what kind of ammo they use in their AK's to get them to be precision shooting rifles they show. I'd hate to know they was using some old mil. surp. stuff that had been stored for about 20 yrs in some old warehouse. Also if the shooter hits one of the target holders, do the other holders get to shoot the shooter?

Well, if anyone read the video description, that's exactly what they do every day. Powder Burns is right on the money re: the goal of the exercises. This is not just special forces, this is the Romanian equivalent of the Secret Service. Now, I don't know why they focus on the silly discredited hand to hand stuff when anyone reading the Associated Press knows there are witches out there ready to hex the president if parliament tries to tax them, but whatever. It's his neck and the ninja's, not mine.
