I just got a bigger safe, now thinking about moving reloading items to the garage...I bought a meter to monitor the safe and its levels before I load it up with my long guns, looking for opinions on acceptable levels of humidity? 30-40-50?

I have one of those 12in bars plugged in and since its not an air sealed safe so the air should technically circulate.

thanks for any input

40-50% is where I keep mine and never have rust problems. I believe arms museums stay a 70 degrees and 50% humidity.

About 55% in the southern summer months is about atypical with an average AC system. As a HVAC tech anything over 60-65%RH can contribute to mold formation. A good 13-14seer system with dehumidification can maintain 50% easily.
