Accu-Shot AI Spigot Question

Re: Accu-Shot AI Spigot Question

yup. but mine is the older version. I understand it has been redesigned.
I have to give mine a good bump after I think it is seated all the way on one stock but it works fine on another. That may not be the spigot's fault though.

Re: Accu-Shot AI Spigot Question

ugh, i literally just pulled mine out of the packaging that came from UPS. I'm gonna be pissed if this shit doesn't lock.

Re: Accu-Shot AI Spigot Question

The one AI bipod I had always seemed loose enough on tolerances that it fit right in. That said, I think Kasey and the Accushot guys works on smaller tolerances. Maybe it just needs to "wear in". No less, give them a call and discuss. Kasey has always answered my emails.

Re: Accu-Shot AI Spigot Question

Is it the older one or the one with the knob on the front?

If the latter, you have to take all the tension out of the know, push the spigot portion away from the mount and insert it into the stock.

When it locks in, tighten the knob.

Hope that made sense.

Re: Accu-Shot AI Spigot Question

Yup its the one with the knob on the mount. I'll try it again.

What exactly is that knob supposed to "tense" because it doesn't appear to be doing anything.

Re: Accu-Shot AI Spigot Question

To install the V2 AI spigot adapter from Accu-Shot you need to loose the knob in front quite a bit, until the shaft move back and forth freely. That gives it enough length to lock into the AI stock. Then insert into the AI stock. You will hear a distinct click when the adapter locks into the AI stock. Then you can tighten the knob.

I think it is to make up for the lack of tolerances on the chassis. I bought one and used it during The Bash and liked it a lot. The knob made it fit snug to the chassis.

Re: Accu-Shot AI Spigot Question

I might be wrong but I believe a batch of AI spigots were recently made to incorrect specs. Not too many but a few. I talked to Kasey and he was more than happy to replace mine if i had a problem but fortunately it seems good. It did take me a couple of attempts to get it in (boom boom) but it seems tight and works well. I think even on the problem ones it still locks in but with a fair amount of play vs no forward/aft slop.

And there seems to be the problem. The spigot doesn't move at all when I loosen the knob.

Re: Accu-Shot AI Spigot Question

I figured it out guys. The problem was the screws that actually hold in the Atlas were binding the spigot from moving at all. Pulled out the screws got the spigot set in the AI tighten the knob and put back in screws with atlas and I'm all good.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Accu-Shot AI Spigot Question

Poison123 heres how to fix the problem.

Take an alley key and loosen the two screws on the top of the spigot. You can pull them out completely if you want, it wont hurt. Grab the body of the spigot and with your other hand gently pull on the spigot shaft until it protrudes about an extra milimeter (1/20") out. Put tension back on the screws so nothing moves again. Try installing the spigot now. If it locks in, properly tighten up the two screws.

You can adjust the length of the spigot to suit your chasis.

Enjoy

what if I loosened the screws and moved the spigot out and it still does not stay in the stock ? is it that out of spec that i need another one? i was considering buying the one from big dog steel and putting mine on ebay.. cause I wouldnt want to subject another hide member to the same misery I am encountering.... I just bought the Accu shot rail for the spigot I purchased online. I think I bought it on ar15.com but I just figured out why it was for sale. I think my spigot is an older model cause it has the knob on the end of it.

nevermind.... I figured it out.. just a matter of figuring out how long the spigot needs to be and tighten it down.. I pulled it out and it locked but then I had slop between the spigot body and the stock. so thanks to those who posted above.....
