i was told by tac pro shooting center that the 1.0 could not be made to a 1.5 but you could put a stock pack on it to get you cheek a little higher as for the 550 if it is in good shape i would say go for it

You might contact AINA to see about the possibility of converting it. Out of curiosity, what color are the stocksides?

Alternatively, you can get a new AICS for $300 more. Once you look at the cost of converting the chassis to a 1.5 configuration, the total cost would probably bring it much closer to that of a new 1.5.

If you don't need to have an adjustable cheek pad then you can either get a cheekpad or just build it up with iso mat or something. You will not look the most "TACTICOOOOL" but once you set your proper height you don't move the cheekpiece anyways. Just my 2 cents.

Actualy you can convert the 1.0 to 1.5 just need to cut off the "Hump" where the cheekrest would go and install the adjustable part.

Back in the day a few server issues ago sombody posted a step by step...want to say it was Rolexrifleman or Kirk not 100% on who posted it.

Option B would be but the 1.5 skins already cut for 150.00 and the cheek rest which I think was 75.00

Option C get a dang stock pack which you may actualy prefer as it has nagua suede and a storage pouch.

You can convert 1.0 to 1.5 but you need to machine the stock sides, buy the adjustable cheek piece and bolts. You also need to determine if the holes are predrilled with helicoils to accept the cheek piece. It is easy to find out the prices of a new 1.5 along with the parts and machining to modify. Do the math and the price you should pay for a used 1.0 has to be something less.
