Accuracy International 300 Win Mag Magazine Issue

Has anyone seen an AI mag do this before? It's like the spring isn't pushing up the rear of the follower. Anybody know how to fix it? If there's only 1 round in the magazine it won't feed. This is a new magazine that came with my Surgeon bottom metal.

My AE MK1 single stack mags have a tendency to do that a bit, but they still feed fine.

Could the spring be in backwards?

Some follower designs have features to reduce tilt but I don't think the AI magazines do anything to prevent tilt.

I have no idea how to take it apart so I don't know if the spring is in backwards or not, the front of the follower has plenty of pressure but the rear isn't being pushed up enough even without a round loaded into it.
