Scored an AI 6.5cm barrel and NF Megamount. Will be headed to gunsmith soon for the chassis chop.
I like the chop idea! A short forend version was supposed to be available eventually. You're def the first guy I've saw put a $400 scope on a $4k rifle!Scored an AI 6.5cm barrel and NF Megamount. Will be headed to gunsmith soon for the chassis chop.

Probably less than $300 . It’ll live on the gun forever and bring a smile to my face every time someone has a meltdown about it about it.I like the chop idea! A short forend version was supposed to be available eventually. You're def the first guy I've saw put a $400 scope on a $4k rifle!
NegativeDoes the AX or AT hinge work with AT-X?
AI rifles are very good $ on the second hand used market. So that’s where I suggest people buy themOK I'm gonna be a downer.
I got burned on the AT-X.
(1): The price drop. Given current inflation, that was a nice kick in the nuts to first run customers. Also killed resale
(2): 1st gen--no quick adjust, multiple screws to manipulate. At this price point that is just inexcusable.
(3): Post product support. Getting a hinge has been nigh impossible. I don't have the time of day to play around waiting for in stock notices and be there within 5 minutes.
(4) I can't mount a **** Sling without a $80 rail accessory.
(5) Keyslot. I know AI had theirs first. But Key mod is 1/4 the price and 90% wider adopted. And available.
Yes it is a nice rifle, it shoots, but I can't work with it. I can't hunt with it (needs sling attachments). I can't upgrade it (hinge out of stock) without spending way too much time.
I'm out.
And it'll probably be a cold day in hell before we get magnum/valk/223 bolts if ever.
I shoulda learned my lesson on a computer game pre-order back in the day. This one was much more expensive. For all the hype, my $1000 Howa does the same thing and I can take that hunting without an upgrade, and get parts. I would have to buy an ARCA rail, but that still leaves me several grand in the black.
Make no mistake, it’s a nice rifle--but AI got my money and I got suckered. No way this is worth the price and effort I paid.
I bought a Atx at the discounted price and started looking for accessories. I canceled the order and went with a Termnius Zeus. The cons you mentioned above were a deciding factor.I got burned on the AT-X.

Agree---that's why I am so pissed with the price drop. Resale if decided was one of the major positives.AI rifles are very good $ on the second hand used market. So that’s where I suggest people buy them
With the recent increase on new stock it gets harder for a person to justify buying new. It was already a bit out of hand prior to that with the current market for precision rifles

I made my own keyslot (AI) screws out of keymod ones - just get a marker and a grinder.Agree---that's why I am so pissed with the price drop. Resale if decided was one of the major positives.
The unsaid thing is I had just started to trust some of the talking heads about products once again.
Not now, I know I am well off, but when I get screwed in a deal--it makes me reflect on how I arrived there.
Usually I try and Listen to guys like Frank and Jacob and they were talking this up a storm.
The whole thing is a very bad taste and I feel like I'm just another cash cow and the in crowd gets to laugh up a storm.
I don't trust anyone's recommendations on this sight anymore (and for all my cursing, that is the worst insult I can think of)
I should have known: caveat emptor
I couldn't even find the specs for keyslot to make my own screws. Hell with my luck they'd sue me for patent infringement.
its the magpul daka grid and the hard shell is the pelican vaultwhat's the case inside system called? manufacturer?
Gen 4 pre-production. Factory 6.5prc.Anyone here any updates on the next gen?? Folder, forend, anyone hear interchangeable bolt heads?!
What optic / NF that?
Nightforce competition 15-55What optic / NF that?
Call EO or MHSA, they have themWTF??......I cant find the rear grip/bag rider anywhere but here it is on all of these.
AT-X Mil model mentions an m-lok chassis version. Will be interested to see what that looks like.
Please tell me you’re not trolling?? lol. Are they really finally coming out with the AXSR style folding stock? Or was that a pull off?

Serious question...I got my AT-X V4 earlier from the super-duper custom shop. AXSR folder, 6.5 PRC

Nice. I had one of the earliest Gen 1’s that o put an AXSR stock on. Originally I believe they talked about putting h those stock options out……kinda like the AX folder for the AT’s but like most everything else they promised it either didn’t happen or is 3 years late. . I really think the AXSR stock is the best version. Mitch better than the Gen 3’s with the big ass black thumb knobs. Problem is you can’t even find AXSR chassis anymore…..if they even still make them.I got my AT-X V4 earlier from the super-duper custom shop. AXSR folder, 6.5 PRC

Does this mean the axsa is going away?
LOL, maybe they lightened it? Maybe it's even heavier than before! Anything changing with the AI action is dynamic! Can't wait to find out what a "dynamic bolt lift" is, what the heck is that supposed to mean?
I had a V2 stock originally and other than getting everything adjusted they function the same.Serious question...
How does the AXSR stock compare to the gen 3 ATX stock? Looks like they have the same adjustability, just one has thumb screws the other had QD levers?

Lighter bolt lift to provides “reduced operating effort”LOL, maybe they lightened it? Maybe it's even heavier than before! Anything changing with the AI action is dynamic!
Id' say you're right. Now the real question....will it be backwards compatible with AT-X's, or are the current owners going to be left out in the cold?Looks like interchangeable bolt heads as well. No more roll pins
