I had a ridiculously good day. 0.387 MOA from factory .308 is wild to see. And, I even got it on video.
My brain started thinking, and I threw my 24" 1:12 Lothar-Walther barrel onto my green AT308 after doing some research on past Arctic Warfare rounds that were used during its hayday. Decided to get more data from this barrel using Federal T308T 168gr, and holy smokes it did not disappoint. My 300 yard group would have been tighter had I actually adjusted for wind that day. But even still, I'm happy with that group.
Below is the chart I put together from doing some research, as I struggled to grasp what round was most effective for the AW during its prime.
The typed sheet was a printout that came with someone's AWP from what I recall. I never did anything with the data once I found it. But, decided to pipe all of the information into a chart using ChatGPT to better visualize what the real world capabilities were of each round, versus what the printout dictated aka "Doctrinal Cutoff" ranges from the printout. It then also included ballistic data to better represent what each round could do.
I then redid the chart to include what kind of groupings they were capable of, converting the milimeter measurements to MOA, and included that in the legend of each chart.
Ballistics have come a very long way since the hayday of the Arctic Warfare. So all said, it was interesting to learn what the real world capabilities are of the Lothar-Walther 1:12 twist barrels; not only visualizing it in charts, but then going to the range and spending a day pushing limits. I've personally reached out to 950 yards with T308T using a 20" 1:12 barrel fairly effectively on an IPSC. I'd like to see just how tight I could keep things using a 24" 1:12 in the future.

Quick question for those that are more knowledgeable than I: Is there a published/verified number for the exact diameter at the widest point of the AXSR .308 bolt body? I’ve made some attempts with calipers, and the largest measurement I’ve gotten is around .866, but I’m not entirely confident in the accuracy of measuring with calipers.
For context, I’m looking to order a bore guide from PMA Tool, which requires the aforementioned measurement. I have the standalone barrel bore guides for when the barrel is off the gun but want a guide for use without removing the barrel as well.

As an alternative, just get this bore guide from Sporting Services. It's made specifically for the platform and works great.
Thanks for the alternative suggestion. Do you know if the mouth of that one tapers or are there bore attachments for different calibers?
I have a bore guide for my AT from Possum Hollow. I called to order it some time ago, and it works with my 308, 6BR, and 22-250 barrels. I’ll try to remember to take a look and get the model # off of it.

I also have @pfl338 ’s awesome barrel tenon bore guide with a solvent port and they work swell too. I just often happen to be too lazy to dismount the barrel (and even the cheek rest lol). Instead, I crack open the folder a bit to give the cleaning rod some access.
@E46M3TX and others, the Possum Hollow bore guide I have for my AIAT is model #143i, and I had it made for 6BR but it works for 308 and interestingly, also for my 22-250 barrel too.
I’ve never seen that model # referenced anywhere online, but there you have it. It has an integral solvent port, and I called to have it made.
These here mags look lengthy for an AI.

My 10 - round AI AW magazines for this rifle are rather compact in comparison.
Why would 10 - round Accurate Mags be nearly twice as long?

They made a short action, single - stack AICS magazine while the default magazine is a short action, AW double - stack?
Makes some sense...
I only bought AW magazines for my ATs, and AICS magazines for my Tikkas in MDT chassis(es).
Didn't occur to me that these AICS magazines would fit in the AT.
But still, why use a longer, bulkier model when the proper one's close to flush, with no reduction in capacity?

Brings me back to my original state of confusion - why on earth would someone use long, bulky, ill - fitting AICS magazines in an AT which already has compact, reliable magazines of the same capacity?

This is the same mag hanging in mine. I’d never choose to run this style mag. Not nearly as smooth as the AW mags by design. Plus you can’t load them in the rifle. Oh and they scratch the crap out of your brass compared to AW as well
The bolt body diameter is the same as the AXMC, measuring 0.865" by my measurement. I recently ordered a custom PMA bore guide for my AXMC in 300 PRC. I used a bolt diameter of 0.865", and it fits perfectly. If you email them and state that you have a long action AI 0.865" diameter bolt body, they will know what to do. They told me that it was going to become a standard offering. It is an amazing design and even better than the Mike Lucas guides I have for other calibers.

AICS mags will fit in an AW/AT. AW/AT 0726 double stack mags will not fit in an AE MK1/MK2 or AICS.
Now I want double stack 20 round AW/AT mags that look like AICS mags
AW mags don’t work in the AE MKIII rifles either just an FYI.

Looks like you have the same thing on your AXSR? I've been looking for something to increase the bag contact on my AXSR chassis.
Yes.. I mainly got it for more surface area to sit on a bag. But it also adds weight to your rifle. So if you’re competing and such, you may want to think about the weight of it. Either then that, it works perfectly on a bag. Also comes with thumb screws or hex head screws.

Finally got ahold of an FDE ATXC. Thank you to @car16smg for the message on it. Great dealing with you and Brett. This is more than likely going to get my 26" 6CM barrel and it’s gonna push some 105's pretty darn fast for some night coyote hunting. Now i just need Nvision to drop that clip on so i can jump on the cool kid bandwagon....for now the ole pulsar is gonna get the job done.

It is the one on GB, I got it cheaper than it was on there tho. Hopefully it is sooner than later but I really don’t think nvision is in any bit of a hurry. Time will tell.
