Accuracy of relitavly new savage not that good

OP,it doesn't sound like you are taking the advice from any of the replies.I would clean the barrel [your choice of how you want to do that]check installation of stock, base's,ring's,torque to spec's,verify scope is good, get a box of FGMM 168's and 175's,shoot off a bag,not bipod. If it doesn't shoot then call savage.Remember if you do any modification's to the rifle it will void the warranty through savage.JMO/Good Luck

I have a bore brush and i have ran it threw several time im not doing it 100 times. I have soaked it with sweets but i clean it out then put oil on my brush and run it through about 20 times. Everyone has there own ways to clean there guns heavy cleaning or light cleaning i have seen people get results from both. I cleaned most of the copper out with a few specks remaining the white streaks that i see i have no idea. No matter what i do those white streaks remain, you cant see them unless you put a led right up to the barrel but what worries me is the fact the one side has these streaks to the muzzle but the other looks has none and looks bran new as you can see in the pics that i posted above which makes me think there may be an imperfection in the barrel and this is the real reason that posted this.

I am going to the range in a week to test it out. I am going to try and find some match ammo. I have some 165g fusion, What do yal think about 168g right to bear match ammo? Or Privy match ammo

Try to get FGMM, nosler custom, black hills, or copper creek. Fusion is a fairly poor minute of deer round. Fine for smacking a deer at 100 yds but is not going to be better than 1 MOA in most rifles. Privi is not great shoots about 1.5 MOA out of my savage that shoots .5 with FGMM 168's. never heard of the other. Like has been said get the FGMM 168 and 175. If it is over 1 MOA off bags send it to savage.

I have a brush and i do use it my procedure consists of soaking the barrel with sweets pulling one swab out through it with a string then covering the brush with oil and going threw the barrel 15-20 times then pulling more dry patches trough it. Everyone has there way of cleaning there guns, heavy cleaning or light i have seen people get results out of both its your choice how you clean. But that's not why i posted this thread.

I have cleaned most of the copper out with a few specks of it here and there, but those white streaks do not seem to come out after cleaning and i do not know what they are. What was concerning me is the fact that one side has these streaks all the way to the muzzle and the other goes 1/7'' back and looks like a bullet never touched it. I was wondering if there may have been a defect. (see picture Above) Or if anyone else has this and is something to be worried about. I was trying to make a check list of things.

I cleaned out the barrel and i bought some fusion 165g ammo and am going to try to find some match ammo. What do yal think about right to bear 168g match or Privy 168g match. I am going to the range next weekend and test out my cleaned out barrel.

I will try to get some of the federal gold match if i can find it. But that is what i might do when i get the time. I was just kinda annoyed when i can get moa and below with a mosin but not my savage. Because I have there mk ii and liked it alot so i thought i would go with them instead of Remington.

That rifle should shoot. It could have a bad barrel or it hates the ammo you have tried. The plastic stocks suck and will not shoot well from a properly loaded bipod. Sounds like a process of elimination. Start with good ammo then eliminate other sources, bipod, base rings, scope etc. I did not notice what kind of rings or base you use. I have done battle with crap bases and rings until I have almost pulled my hair out trying to figure wtf was wrong with a rifle. I would not obsess with the streaks in the barrel until you eliminate other much more common issues. Clean it, shoot it, report back.
