Hello,

Looking for your opinion on the above. I want something that is precise for 100 to 200yd shooting and I live in a state with a ton of vegetation so was wondering if I should call it safe with red even though I have been reading green pops out even in vegetation. Seems red may be better in any case?

Thx

I believe the color options would be more of a personal preference. That being said, the ACOG's Ive used in and out of the Army were TA31F's with red chevrons. I personally love that optic and think its great for combat, hunting and target shooting. In thick vegetation I would think red reticle would stick out. You could find them used on here for decent prices.

I have had both colors & for me red = dead & green = can't be seen. Don't know why but it's the same for my fiber optic archery sights as well. Also I prefer the Chevron over the Horseshoe.

Re: **Acog Reticle Chevron vs Horsehoe Green Vs Red**

I picked up a 4X32 red ghost ring/red dot set up for 6.8 spc. Luv it and can even see after dark though quite dim,,, but can still throw that red dot on target. I wouldn't ever buy a non-illuminated scope nowadays.

At 100 yards, the red dot cover a little over an inch and the ghost ring covers the 8 inch circle. I shot a caribou at over 600 yards this fall and the ghost ring went as high as the bull's antlers. They were moving away from me, so I figured if one of the bulls turned giving me a shot (I was looking at their butts as they moved away from me) I'd just pop a few off. I didn't use the BDC lines, just shot over his back 5 quick ones. Ht him twice and he went down.

The ghost ring is super quick for me and I wish I could buy leupolds with ghost rings over top illuminated cross hairs, no joke. I have only owned red aimpoints until now, but will buy another acog if the price is right.

Did you by chance find the green to be more translucent than red, harder to define the lines? That was one complaint my friend made. To him the red was more bold and the lines were more definitive. What was your experience if this is different.

thx

ps: more opinions welcome!
