I've got a bonus coming from the Army. And am going to get myself an ACOG for my AR-15. Between my own army expiriance, and the write up over at DEMIGOD, I know I want the green horse shoe. But which one? My Father (Fed Agent) loves TA-11's, but that's a big bastard.
What ACOG's do you guys have / reccomend? I'm kind of leaning to the 3.5's

I'm currently using this rifle on steel shoots. < 200 meters. on account of me not being able to find a longer range here in MA.

Re: ACOG

I would go with a red dot optic eotech or M-68. Still very effective past 400m you just have to adjust the brightness of the dot.... I feel that it is a more flexible aiming aid for a standard AR-15 platfrom...

If you intend to run match ammo through it and try to get the most accuracy out of your weapon the standard ACOG would be fine

Re: ACOG

I've been issued the ACOG and the M68. and it's like 1911's vs Glocks.

I just HATE the M68. and the rest of the line of dot sights. (and I used to be a distributer for Eotech) I just like the ACOG's better.

I really want people's input about the TA11, TA31, and TA33's

Re: ACOG

I really love my TA-31. I have the red chevron though and really like the ranging the chevron gives you. TA31 is going to have a little larger FOV along with being a little more compact than the TA-11. I think the TA-33 is just way too big.

Re: ACOG

I really like my TA31F with red chevron. It is the perfect size, magnification and reticle. Very fast and precise. My only complaint is the eye relief--too short. I have to get my eye uncomfortably close for the proper sight picture.

Re: ACOG

I got the 4X32 red horseshoe/red dot for my 6.8 stag. I like it but want an eotec too for another AR. Super quick for me to use up close, but tough at 5-6 hundred yards. Killed a caribou at over 600 this fall. The horseshoe went clear up over the 3 year old's rack. 5 quick shots, hit twice and bou went down. The horseshoe cover 8 inch circle at 100 yards.

Re: ACOG

I have used the donut, chevron and the triangle reticle. I like the chevron best. As for power, it really depends on where you think you are going to be using it. I find the EOTech is much quicker for CQB than the ACOG, but the ACOG is easier to use out past 100 Meters.
